Built over 100 years ago as a chicken hatchery, this gorgeous little gem has been fully restored as a two-story guest cottage. Located in New Paltz just minutes off Exit 18 on I-87 in a very private, quiet, country setting. Only ten minutes from New Paltz Village & SUNY New Paltz and set back on a lightly traveled road for those long summer strolls. You don't even need a car to get here! It's just 12 minutes by taxi from the New Paltz Bus Station or bring your bike up and cycle everywhere! The space The Little Yellow Cottage displays much of it's original construction including post and beam, stained glass in the cupola (even an original stained glass portrait of Abraham Lincoln!) and a screened in porch for breakfast with a view or just hanging out. Inside you’ll find a spiral staircase and all the 21st century amenities you’d expect, including radiant in-floor heat, AC, TV, wi-fi and laundry in the full kitchen (Note: there is a stovetop but no oven). One queen bed sleeps two on the ground level and one Murphy bed sleeps a single on the lower level. Curtains on all windows for privacy (removed for the Airbnb photos). Private picnic table right outside. And the postal code may say Highland, but the Little Yellow Cottage is really in New Paltz! Guest access Guests will have access to the property around the Little Yellow Cottage.
