Your holiday residence is a listed building and an ideal starting point for exploring on foot, by donkey, bike, motorbike or car the immediate scenic surroundings, the entire biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord and more. Depending on the number of bedrooms you use, you will live in up to 310m² of mostly newly renovated and newly furnished living space - of which up to 180m² on the Bel Étage on the upper floor and up to 130 m² on the ground floor. You are free to choose which bedrooms you use. The kitchen, living and dining area are on the upper floor. Here you will also find a bathroom with a whirlpool bath/shower and toilet, a large bedroom for up to four people (family room), a bedroom for two people and in the playroom with a library a sofa bed for two people, as well as high-quality wooden toys and children's books at the age of about 2 to 12 years. On the ground floor there is an entrance area, a billiard room, a bathroom with a shower, a guest toilet and a small utility room with access to the garden. There are also two other large bedrooms here, which are also set up as family rooms for up to four people. In addition to the 16 sleeping places mentioned (each 200cm x 90cm), the house offers 4 baby beds (each 120cm x 60cm). There is also space for at least one baby bed in each of the four bedrooms and in the playroom with library and sofa bed. All entrances to these rooms have lockable doors. Since March 2024, all heat for heating and hot water is generated directly from the sun (solar thermal energy) or from renewable raw materials (pellets). Since March 2025, we have implemented a modern fire protection concept with a building alarm system as well as self-closing doors and panic locks on the escape routes. The rooms are furnished with original individual pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries (Wardrobes and tables in the bedrooms, mirrors, linen closets, individual chairs), modern solid wood built-in furniture (playroom and large bedroom on the upper floor) and designer furniture. Original paintings, drawings and graphics from the 17th to 21st centuries adorn the walls. In the house you will find a selection of local wines, and in the luxuriously equipped kitchen you will also find recipe books for grilled and kettle dishes. In addition to the central heating, there is firewood and a modern fireplace on both floors. The property is on a slight south-facing slope, is bordered on the south and south-east by old sandstone walls up to 3 m high and is otherwise fenced in. Only the entrance on the southeast side is open. A magnificent redwood tree stands next to it on the right, and the historic red and white flag of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt flies, in summer, on the left. There are 4 parking spaces in front of the outbuilding and the main building. You can also park motorbikes or mobile homes here. In the circus space in the outbuilding, you can park your mountain bikes or hang them up like hunting prey. The Former Landgrave's Hunting Lodge is a project for living with nature, art and history. During the peak and shoulder seasons, we prefer to rent it out by the week with changes starting on Saturdays; during the off-season, we also rent it out on weekends. We are happy to make exceptions, especially around public holidays. Late check-out is possible on Sundays and public holidays.
