The Barn, rustic chic house in Ayer’s Cliff

La Grange is a chic, rustic, old barn in the heart of Ayer's Cliff, ideal for two couples or a small family. Village life within walking distance, Lake Massawippi 1.5 km away, Magog/North Hatley 15 minutes away, Mont Orford 20 minutes away. Spacious, personal and full of character, with private access, full kitchen, gas fireplace and outdoor space. Close to the main street: trucks audible and noticeable during the day. Quiet at night. The space La Grange is our personal family chalet, located in a former barn in the heart of Ayer's Cliff. It is a spacious, warm and characterful place, designed for travelers who love architecture, large spaces, village life and inhabited houses with personality. On the ground floor, you will find a fully equipped open kitchen, a large antique table, a gas fireplace, a sitting area, a toilet and an entrance closet. Upstairs, a large open area includes a double bed, a TV lounge, air conditioning, a full bathroom with shower and bathtub, a separate powder room, and a closed bedroom with a view of the backyard. The full bathroom is accessible by crossing the open area where one of the beds is located, an important point to note for two couples. La Grange is perfect for 4 guests, with 2 double beds. Up to 6 guests can be accommodated on request with an extra mattress. Each guest beyond 4 is charged $20 per night. Guest access Guests have access to La Grange through a private entrance, indicated by a dedicated sign. Self check-in using a key box. You will have access to the entire house, with the exception of a locked room and a locked cleaning closet. These spaces contain our personal belongings and cleaning equipment. La Grange has its own reserved outdoor space, a private BBQ and access to shared outdoor spaces, including the backyard, garden, outdoor furniture and outdoor fireplace. These spaces can also be used by guests staying at the Grey Rabbit or the Wood Loft. Parking is in the shared driveway, which can accommodate several vehicles. The entrance is cleared of snow in winter as needed. Other things to note La Grange is not a secluded cottage in the countryside. It is located near the main street of Ayer's Cliff, close to village life, restaurants, the lake, and summer activities. As this is an old barn located near the village road, the house may vibrate slightly when large trucks pass by during the day. It's part of the character of an ancestral building in a village setting. Trucks rarely pass by on weekends and don't pass by at night. The house is still pleasant for reading, relaxing, or working during the day, but it is not suitable for guests seeking complete isolation or perfect silence. Children are welcome, but the house is not baby-proofed. There are stairs, personal items, and delicate furniture. A baby bed can be provided upon request, but young children remain the responsibility of their parents. This is our personal family cabin, with books, decorative items, and furniture that we care about. Please take care of them like it's your own home.
