Our waterfront villas at La Foleia offer two iconic types of accommodation. From Villa Padiglione’s grand frescoes, warming fireplace and sweeping views to Villa Ottagonale’s intriguing salon, marble wanders and dreamy glasshouse; expect to be awestruck at La Foleia. Villa Padiglione is A neoclassical pavilion, with large windows that open onto a stairway that accompany you into the lake. The space La Foleia is a special, recently renovated destination. “Foleia” is the latin word for “follia” which translates into folly, madness. It was first imagined, then realized with art, courage and determination. Once an oak forest, it became a property with a 4000 sqm circle of water filled with a private, natural spring from the Ticino river. On the lake’s two opposite shores are two mirrored houses; one has an octagonal plan, with French windows that frame the water and the statues that adorn its edges from the living room. The other, a neoclassical pavilion, with large windows that open onto a stairway that accompany you into the lake. Around it, like curtains adorning the edges of your home, an unmissable variety of trees, plants and flowers, a secret, unimaginable garden, that can’t even be fathomed from the gate outside. In the spring, frogs come to mate in the lake’s waters. And the sound of them mating inhabits the enchanted nights. As the days progress, the water lilies bloom exposing their pink flowers and the lake’s mirror becomes surprising, with big-mouthed fish jumping to eat mosquitoes, dragonflies filling the air and the mallards forming families, with ducklings swimming among the plants. In the evening, from time to time, you can even see herons resting on the lake to fish and rest. A magical place where nature makes us feel part of a whole and the houses, with their elegant furnishings, are precious stones set in the landscape. Both Villas have an independent entrance that allows you to arrive in front of the Villa's entrance by car. Other things to note Villa Padiglione is the other soul of the lake, gently resting on the steps that descend softly into the water, surrounded by vases and stone spheres that define its borders. A vast frescoed living room, painted in the colors of an eternal summer, is framed by large French doors opening onto the patio, while behind it a warm and welcoming fireplace completes the space. The rooms, with sloping ceilings and a large library, create an elegant retreat where one can enjoy the view of fruit trees, flowers, and statues that embrace the house like a gentle protection. The Padiglione features a magnificent frescoed living room with a fireplace and windows opening onto the patio in front of the lake, where guests can sit and admire lotus flowers and water lilies, and enjoy lunches and dinners with cypress trees standing like gentle sentinels. Two bedrooms with dormer windows, painted in soft tones and enriched by warm wood details, each feature a simple and light bathroom, with sinks positioned in front of large windows framing flowers and statues. The La Foleia staff will be present on site until 7:00 PM to ensure assistance and service for guests. INCLUDED SERVICES: - Breakfast, included in the rate, is served every morning from 8:30 AM and includes a selection of freshly prepared hot beverages, croissants, fresh bread, local jams and honey, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and organic cereals. Upon request, freshly prepared options such as pancakes, eggs, cold cuts and cheese platters, fruit salad, fresh juices, and centrifuges are also available. At check-in, you will be invited to complete a short preference form indicating your desired breakfast time, allowing us to provide a fully personalized service. - Daily housekeeping is included in the reservation and will be scheduled according to your preferences, ensuring maximum comfort throughout your stay. - Access to the outdoor wellness area overlooking our small private lake (a Finnish sauna made of antique cedar wood, two natural outdoor pools with hydromassage and heated water during the winter season, an outdoor shower, and relaxation areas). The wellness area is accessible by reservation from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. To ensure exclusive use, we kindly request booking a time slot of one or two hours. If desired, multiple non-consecutive slots may be reserved within the same day, in order to allow guests of the other villa to also enjoy the space. For any information or special requests, we are always at your disposal. PLEASE NOTE: For couples wishing to use two bedrooms in the villa, a €50 supplement applies to cover additional laundry costs. This supplement is charged once for one-night stays and, for longer stays, every 3 days, in order to ensure the highest level of comfort.
