*Typical House* Terrace overlooking the Valley*

Description

In Pescaglia, a stone village among the woods of the Apuan Alps, half an hour from Lucca yet in another era, a typical village house awaits you. Here life still flows to the slow rhythm of the mountains, among chestnut groves and voices that know one another. Its heart is the terrace among the roses, overlooking the peaks, where you breakfast in the sun and light the barbecue at sunset. Inside, the charm of a bygone age: beamed ceilings, stone and stillness. A retreat for up to 5 guests. The space ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 A spacious room beneath ceilings of beams and terracotta tiles, where the Queen Size bed with its lacquered headboard welcomes you after a day among the woods. The antique walnut furniture and the sage-green wall lend warmth to the space, while the window opens onto the valley: facing southeast, it fills with light in the morning, and as you look out you find a horizon of nothing but woods and silence. The evenings draw to a close beneath the crystal chandelier. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 The French bed in inlaid walnut, with its rounded headboard, is the heart of this room with a flavour of times gone by. Two windows facing south and southeast let the sun in from mid-morning: one looks onto the mountains, the other onto the stone houses of the lane. The gilded mirror and the brass lamp beside the bed create just the right corner for reading a page before sleep, in the silence of the village. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮, 𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 On the lower floor, a room with a bold character, with exposed stone walls and the original niches that tell of the house's age. By day it is the convivial heart: around the table you have lunch and gather, while the sofa invites you to relax after a day out. Here you'll find the tableware for managing the barbecue on the terrace and a Bluetooth speaker for your music, with the door opening just a step from the outdoor space. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗕𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 In the evening the same room transforms: the sofa opens into a comfortable double bed and the TV accompanies the lazier evenings. The adjoining bathroom makes it comfortable and independent from the rest of the house, a small, snug retreat in contact with the stone. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 If there is one place you'll return to again and again, it's this. In the morning breakfast arrives with the sun, among the roses and the green mountains that fill your gaze. The afternoon slips slowly by in the shade, and when the barbecue is lit in the evening the table becomes the centre of everything. All around, only the stone rooftops of the village and the valley that little by little falls silent. This is where the house is at its very best. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘀 Beside the taverna, a counter with stools is just the spot for an aperitif or a drink at the end of the day. Here you'll find a fridge, handy too for keeping everything needed for the barbecue cool, and an ice machine always ready for your drinks. From here a wrought-iron spiral staircase connects the various levels of the house, in the informal and convivial spirit of this floor. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 Among the brightest spaces in the house, it's the room that wins you over the moment you open the windows: the light pours fully in and your gaze runs straight out over the valley. Here the sofa and the armchairs invite you to relax in front of the Smart TV, while around the table you gather for lunch or for dinner in good company. A glass door opens onto the terrace, where you can take the coffee made in the kitchen and drink it standing, with the mountains before you and the fresh air of the woods. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝘆 The original kitchen has stayed true to its character: the old stone sink with its blue majolica tiles, the masonry fireplace and the wooden dresser that keeps pots and tableware. Here you'll find the gas hob, the fridge, the microwave and the coffee machine to begin the day at an easy pace. The table beside the window, looking onto the greenery, gives you space to prepare your dishes. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝘀 On the bedroom floor, easily reached from both the Master Suite and the Single Room, it's a bright space with the window looking onto the greenery. The spacious shower, clad in red mosaic, adds an unexpected touch of colour, and on arrival you'll find the courtesy set ready to use. Everything you need to begin and end the day without a care. ✦ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮 On the lower floor, it serves the taverna and the outdoor space: the right bathroom for rinsing off after a day out or coming back from the barbecue without going upstairs. The yellow walls give it a sunny air, and between the shower, the basin and the fixtures you'll find everything within reach. Its position makes it practical for those sleeping in the taverna and for those spending the evening on the terrace. *Note* The spiral staircase connecting the entrance floor to the lower floor is narrow, as is often the case in mountain houses. To go down to the taverna and the terrace with bulky luggage, or for those with mobility difficulties, there's a convenient alternative: from the lower floor a door leads out onto the lane and lets you reach the main entrance by going around the corner, without using the spiral staircase. Guest access To offer you maximum flexibility, our apartment features Self Check-in available 24 hours a day, allowing you to arrive completely independently at the time you prefer.
