Environmentally conscious in the Wadden Sea National Park

Our 80 sqm, modernly furnished, 2-story vacation home (semi-detached house) is located on the peninsula of Butjadingen on the North Sea between Eckwarden and Eckwarderhörne. The house has been rented for 2 people since January 2024, if necessary, guest reviews refer to the period before. The house (built in 1950) was energetically renovated in the winter of 2023/24 and the upper rooms were newly furnished. When the sun is shining, we get our electricity from the PV system on the roof. Half of the house and garden are NOT suitable for small children: garden not fenced/borders on water ditch, country road in the immediate vicinity, steep stairs in the house. There are no baby utensils available. There is a bedroom upstairs (with a French double bed: 140 cm x 200 cm), as well as a large living room and a kitchen-living room on the ground floor. Upstairs is a spacious bathroom with shower, a slightly smaller one with a bathtub is in the basement. We have set up a separate work/reading room where you can be undisturbed (Internet: 100 Mbps). The house is equipped with everything you need to feel completely at home. The parking space for 1 vehicle is right by the house. There is also a charging station for electric cars. For rainy days, you will find an old-school DVD collection, Netflix and books, as well as an extensive game collection in the house. In the small garden (about 80 sqm incl. parking space) with wooden terrace you can have breakfast, enjoy a tea and observe nature. For more biodiversity, we adhere to the "Mowing-free May." The property is rural. The village shop and the North Sea can be reached in 15-20 minutes on foot. For other activities you need a car. There is no washing machine. You can rent bicycles in Tossens. Our garden borders directly on the country road that connects Eckwarden with Eckwarderhörne. During the summer holidays, traffic is higher due to tourism. Hay is brought in 1-2 times in summer. In the immediate vicinity is a dairy farm. When you book with us, you seek seclusion, pay attention to the environment and use resources carefully. We attach great importance to environmental protection and sustainability. In summer, we switch off the heating. For the cooler evenings, we recommend a sweater or cardigan. There is no underfloor heating, pack if necessary. slippers. We pay attention to waste separation and provide appropriate containers. In the kitchen you will find a "food sharing drawer". At the end of the year, we donate part of the booking income to charitable projects. Guest access The half of the house and the separate garden are all yours, we live next door and are available at any time. You have a separate entrance and parking space on your side of the house. You can check in contactlessly using the door code. After booking, you will receive all relevant information from us. Other things to note Of course, we provide fresh towels, sheets and all the essentials. Of course, you will also find organic/fair trade coffee and tea for a good start to your day in the kitchen. You can use the charging station in the parking lot for your electric car. The energy costs will be charged additionally. The municipality of Butjadingen charges a tourist tax. The amount will be charged additionally. Early check-in (from 10 am) or late check-out (until 4 pm) is possible for an additional €30 each, provided there is no other booking.
