The Cart Lodge at West Heath Barn

The Cart Lodge offers 2 bedrooms and a bright, spacious open-plan living space opening onto a sunny south facing courtyard. It's very dog-friendly and the fully enclosed dog paddock is the gateway to the network of paths that surround us. Located just outside the pretty Norfolk village of Great Massingham, we offer the ideal base whether you wish to go walking, cycling, visit the coast, the local attractions or simply recharge your batteries in a beautiful, tranquil setting. The space West Heath Barn offers two dog-friendly self-catering cottages in traditional 1850’s Norfolk barns, lovingly restored to preserve all their original character whilst combined with contemporary comfort. The cottages have loads of character with vaulted ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and under-floor heating throughout. They are superbly equipped with everything you need to make your home from home stay comfortable, relaxing and stress free. We typically accept up to 2 well-behaved dogs for which an additional charge of £20 applies. Guest access Facilities include a full-equipped kitchen including a washer-dryer and dishwasher, open-plan sitting room/diner with TV, music and DVD player. Bedrooms have handmade wrought iron beds, quality bedlinen, televisions and hairdryers. The bathroom has a bath with shower over and a heated towel rail. Towels and toiletries are provided. We are set in over 4 acres of land and have a small herd of alpacas and flock of chickens in the paddocks. Guests are welcome to meet them and give them a cuddle and their breakfast. We are surrounded by a network of pathways offering lots of great walks and guests can stroll into the village to visit the award-winning Dabbling Duck gastro-pub in the local village. Other things to note Our cottages are available for either a 3 night stay (Fri to Monday) from October to May (excluding Christmas) or a 7 night stay June to September with a Friday changeover. If you wish to stay for 4 nights Monday to Friday in the short break season send us an enquiry and assuming we have availability we can offer that for the same price as a 3 day weekend break. We can also offer 7 night stays commencing on a Friday throughout the year - again please send an enquiry. We love dogs and well-behaved ones are very welcome in our cottages - do be aware that whilst we clean our cottages scrupulously after each visit, if you have a dog allergy then this may not be the right place for you.
