Maison Arthur lies in the Normandy Basse/Brittany border near the sea, where the Gulf Stream provides a special mild microclimate. The space The country house, renovated with a lot of love for detail, is located at the end of a hamlet on a hill above the village of Sourdeval-Les-Bois. It is unseen to the south and gives the view of the gently hilly landscape of the South Manche. The property has several direct terrace areas on the house and offers both sun and shade spots 24/7. Guest access The house 145 sqm, except for a small room, as well as the entire outdoor area with loungers and deck chairs are available for our guests. Other things to note Sights in the immediate vicinity: The famous Kupferstadt Villedieu and market town of Gavray offer cozy restaurants for all culinary needs as well as a complete infrastructure: shops, banks, banks, pharmacies, doctors, supermarkets, weekly markets, post office, bistros and cafes. Close by is also the well-known historical abbey of Hambye. The most impressive sight of the region is certainly Mont-St.-Michel. Visit the copper workshops in Villedieu, one of the many Calvados distilleries or the port city of Granville with the Museum Christian Dior and the historic old town on the sea cliffs. A crossing to Jersey or to the offshore canal islands is also recommended. Other attractions include the oyster benches in Cancale, Bayeux (tapisserie de Bayeux), Cean (old town), Fougéres (fortress), Coutances (Cathedral). The landing coasts of the Allies can be reached in about 1 hour. Wide and partly pristine, flat sloping sandy beaches that are also suitable for children are available along the entire coast, including in Granville (about 30 min. away) or in St. Martin Brehal (about 15 min away). There are many recreational opportunities for and all ages. Underneath a surf sailing school, you can go horseback riding, playing golf, cycling or picking at low tasting. Fresh fish, lobster, oysters, or mussels are available almost everywhere in the restaurants. The region has a very good infrastructure. Weekly and supermarkets, shops, gas stations as well as a hospital and medical care are in the immediate vicinity.
