The space The houseboat is ideally located in the middle of the Canal District, the famous 17th-century city centre of Amsterdam. Sitting on the private terrace of your luxury suite, you'll have a stunning view over the Torensluis, often cited as the most beautiful bridge of Amsterdam. All the main attractions are within walking distance, as well as the best restaurants, bars, shops and clubs. The Dam Square, Anne Frank House and the Royal Palace are only 100 meters away. Although the ship is located in the city center, the canal on which it is located (Singel) has a tranquil feel. As the sun sets, you can enjoy a relaxing drink on the deck, whilst being greeted by the ducks and boats passing by. The suite consists of living room with a kingsize bed, a bedroom with a bunkbed and a private bathroom. Guests have a private entrance, as well as a private terrace. The ship, which bears the name "Anne", was originally built in 1930, as a Dutch cargo barge. But she has been completely renovated in 2025 into an extremely comfortable home on the water. This includes 21st century modern features such as underfloor heating and air conditioning, fast mobile wifi and a connection to the city drinking water and electricity system. In the mean time the owners have made an effort to maintain all the original details of the ship. The Anne is the perfect place for an unforgettable stay in Amsterdam. Guest access The suite is brand new and completely independent from the owners’ living quarters. A private entrance ensures full privacy and allows you to come and go as you wish. The living room features a king-size bed (180 × 200 cm) positioned beneath a skylight, allowing you to fall asleep under the stars. A comfortable sofa and two armchairs provide the perfect place to unwind and rest your legs after a day exploring the city. You’ll also find a small fridge, along with your own coffee and tea facilities. In the separate bedroom, the upper bunk bed offers a unique and charming view of the canal. This bed (80 × 200 cm) is suitable for an adult. The lower bunk is slightly wider (110 × 200 cm), also adult-friendly, and can comfortably accommodate two small children under 8 years old. The private bathroom is equipped with a luxurious rain shower, and underfloor heating runs throughout the entire suite for year-round comfort. On your private deck terrace, you can enjoy your morning coffee as the city awakens—or relax with a drink in the evening as the canal bridges light up around you. Other things to note The suite is completely separated from the private quarters of the owners. We have separate entrances. There's a wall with a locked door between the two areas. Please note that a boat might be less suitable for people with mobility issues. This is our second houseboat. For many years our guests enjoyed our other ship in the “Jordaan”, which we replaced with the "Anne" in 2025. Anne is named after the late grandmother of the current owner.
