Back in time

Slow down in this unique, soothing place to stay. Here you wake up to the singing of the birds or the sounds of our animals. The house has been renovated and left in the old style as much as possible, with basic amenities... That's why it's also called "Back in Time"... Everything is available to live comfortably in a quiet environment. In the evening by the wood fire, looking out over the fields, walking/strolling or enjoying a good book. The space The building/cottage dates back to around 1850 and has undergone several renovations during its existence. It recently found its current purpose. The living room is about 25 square meters equipped with wood-burning stove sofa chairs. Everything in the old style. The open kitchen is accessible via a small staircase and is equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator/freezer and a counter with accessories. You still do the dishes "the old-fashioned way" by hand. To do laundry, use the washing machine located in the common area. From the kitchen, you enter the shower/toilet area via a small step. This has a dry toilet and shower. The sink only provides cold water for hand washing. The sleeping loft is also accessible via the kitchen. Two single beds are located above the kitchen, and the double bed is above the living room and equipped with a clothes dresser. In the yard, there is a trampoline and a slide with a swing available for the kids. Guest access The entire cottage is accessible via the living room. Other things to note Experience the area near the largest lake in Sweden! At about 6 km from Lake Vänern and about 4 km from Lake Skagern, our small holiday home is located in Torpa, renovated in old style with sleeping loft – perfect for families. Special features: Space: Sleeping loft with 2 beds (1 double bed and 2 single beds) Living room: a cozy place with wood stove, perfect for being together. Well equipped kitchen incl. gas stove with oven and fridge with freezer. Convenience: Free parking. Area: Take a walk or bike ride in the surrounding area. Discover the natural park on the Gullspångälven (river) or go swimming and relaxing in Skagersvik. Everything is a few minutes away by car or just wonderful by bike. Discover the Götakanaal in Sjötorp already cycling or walking. Take a dip in the water or have a snack and drink in one of the eateries. Cycle by draisine bike from Gullspång to the north or south, you will even come past our yard, ideal to take a short break. At about 5 minutes by car, you will find a small seaside resort with grill options in the village of Skagersvik. Outdoors and leisure: Take a look at our animals (goats, chickens, sheep, cats) or just wonderfully listening to the birds and the wind. On request, it is possible to sail with a boat to one of the islands on the Skagern. Take a stroll by the Gullspångälven(river) where you can grill/picnic. Guest access: You have access to the whole house. On the lawn, there is a trampoline, a children's slide and a swing, and there is the possibility of doing laundry in a shared room in the shed. Private house: enjoy the entire property. Easy check-in: Upon arrival, the host or hostess will welcome you and give you the key. Parking: Free parking is available on site. Nearby amenities: In nearby Gullspång (about 6 km) you will find a supermarket (ICA), a small Toko, two pizzerias, a cafe, an ATM and a health center. Other things to note: Take a moment to review this helpful information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay: Bed linen and towels: These can be rented on request. Rental is available for SEK 130/person (including sheet, comforter cover, pillowcase and towel). Please request when booking. Check-in and check-out: Check-in from 15:00; check out before 11:00. Please strip the beds and put the bedding in the laundry basket in the bathroom. Peace and quiet: We are located in a quiet rural setting. Care of the house: we ask that you leave the house tidy (broom and vacuum cleaner are provided), the dishes done and separate waste can be returned to us. No pet. No smoking.
