Description
Just a 15 minutes beautiful walk to Coffee Bay we live in a peaceful village. You will be the only tourist here. Xhosas plowing their gardens and thatching the roofs. You watch the sheep passing by and starring at you. Raptors hunting young chickens and a large variety of birds visiting. Children walking to school and doing nonsense. If you want to experience the real Africa, but prefer to have a bit comfort (hot shower & bath, fridge, flush toilet, jungle shower) then you are right here ! The space The round hut is part of a homestead of 3 huts and one square building. It is in a rural African village with scattered homesteads on grass hills, 500m from the coast line and 1500m to the main beach. Our new highlight is the outside shower! Alicia can prepare a dinner for you, if you let her know one day in advance. It is a good option especially for the first evening. It's 200 to 250 rand per person. Fresh fish or cray fish if available. It is a beautiful place in a real african village. Guest access Update January 2020: New private open sky shower in large tropical bathroom! The round hut was only finished in February 2014. Since February 2016 it has got tiles on the floor. January 2018: just connected: electricity ! The kitchen is in a separate building about 20 meters away from the hut. You can use the kitchen, which is for everyone. It has got electricity, a gas stove and a washing machine. You will have your own private small fridge. We have got a large chest freezer, were you can store your frozen food. In the kitchen building is a bathroom with hot shower and hot bath. It has got a flush toilet. Since April 2016 we have got an outside shower which is great. The water only heats up a bit in a black water tank depending on the sun. If you prefer you can wash in a water basin, boiling the water in a water kettle. During your stay To prepare you stay we can communicate via email and to phone in the early evening (5 to 7). While staying here you can talk to us straight or whats up or phone. Whatever suits you. Other things to note There was a new road made in our village leading straight to us. There is no bridge yet and no drainages along the road, so we don't know how things will look after a big rain. As for now you can drive wuth a Polo to us!
