The Clansthal Beach House

Located in a Nature Conservancy, this lovely 5 bedroom, 3-bathroom house has 4 double beds, 1 single beds and 2 bunk beds. Four of the five bedrooms have sea views as does the lounge. There is a great outdoor entertaining area also with amazing sea views as well as a pool (netted) and deck. The house is situated in a large and secure subtropical garden, which is home to amazing bird life. You are in easy walking distance to the beach. The space This lovely 5 bedroom, 3-bathroom house has 4 queen beds, 1 single beds and 2 bunk beds. Four of the five bedrooms have sea views as does the lounge and TV room. There is a great outdoor entertaining area also with amazing sea views as well as a pool (netted) and deck. The large outdoor dining table easily seats 12 and there is a separate outdoor lounging area too. We are pet friendly. The house is situated in a large, rambling subtropical garden which is home to over 50 species of birds and is ideal for both children and dogs to play in. The house comes with linen, bath towels and a full set of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There are two fridges, a stove, microwave, kettle and toaster. It is set up, cleaned and prepared by our housekeeper prior to your arrival, this is included in the above quoted rate. The housekeeper is available daily upon request at an additional R250pd. At certain times of year you can watch whales and dolphins in the bay from the deck. It is situated 40 minutes drive south of Durban in between the coastal towns of Umkomaas and Scottburgh in a small slice of heaven known as Clansthal. The Clansthal Conservancy is part of the Aliwal Marine Protected Area. Clansthal has a semi-private beach and is home to the world-class surf spot of Greenpoint and the highly popular Aliwal Reef dive site, which is located 5 kms directly offshore. The Clansthal Beach House boasts incredible views over Greenpoint and the Shoal. The house is walking distance to the beach (150m). The sea temperature is warm year round and ideal for bathing, diving, surfing and snorkeling (20-25 degrees Celsius). There is an upmarket lodge/restaurant called The Lazy Moose just down the road. The house is located approximately 1.5kms from The Greenpoint Lighthouse. You are a 5km drive from Scottburgh and Umkomaas both of which boast golf courses and have all the modern shops (Woolies, P'nP, Spar), fast internet etc. The Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve is a 15-minute drive away and you are conveniently located between the launch sites of Umkomaas, Scottburgh and Park Rynie. Guest access You will have access to the entire property. There is a caretaker who resides in a separate dwelling on the property and he may come and go during your stay as he works in neighbouring properties. Other things to note The house is located in a nature conservancy. Parties, fireworks and loud music are not permitted. There is an abundance of birdlife, but there are also lots of monkeys who tend to be quite sneaky and will happily enter the house to steal fruit if its left out!
