Amazing Sunset
Description
Typical Aeolian house composed of 2 large bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a terrace with a breathtaking view of the Aeolian Islands and a big garden. The feeling is that of being on a sailboat. The location of the house is perfect: away from the noise, five minutes far from the 2 grocery stores and 10 minutes from the port and the sea. Perfect for a couple who wants to have a romantic holiday but also suitable for a family with children, like ours. The space The house is spread over a terrace exposed from north to south with a wonderful view of the Aeolian islands. Some days, when the sky is clear, you can also see the Etna. The terrace, which is overlooked by the kitchen and the two bedrooms, is the living room of the house and is the place where we love to spend most of our time. Electricity is missing in Ginostra. Every house has at least a solar panel to make its own electricity. Our house has electricity only in the kitchen, where there are a fridge and a useful light for cooking. In the rest of the house, there is no electric light but in both bedrooms, there is a socket to recharge the smartphone or the computer. In the evening we use candles which create a very pleasant atmosphere. We light them in every room and even outside. In the house, you will find candles and candle holders that MUST BE ABSOLUTELY switched off before going to sleep. However, candles can be purchased in 2 stores in the center of the village. We also have solar garden lights that illuminate the external path which leads to the bathroom. The latter is accessible only from outside as in all Aeolian houses. To be able to walk around Ginostra at night it is necessary to bring a torch. I suggest the one you wear around your head so you can have your hands free. In Ginostra water is a primary asset. Each house has a cistern in which rainwater accumulates, which is used to cook, wash and water. The water you use to wash dishes is collected in a bucket and used to flush the toilet: this is a great lesson, for me and my kids, to learn how to save water! Once the water from the cistern is over, the holiday is over. In our house to take water from the well we have a manual pump on the terrace. Guest access Our guests can access to the entire space with no limits. Other things to note A trusted person will be available to guests during their entire stay.
