Old Malthouse, Monksilver

Old Malthouse is a characterful cottage in the heart of Monksilver, on record as a working malt house as early as 1737 and now benefiting from recent refurbishment. It sleeps up to 5 guests across three bedrooms, comprising two doubles with built-in wardrobes and one single, along with one bathroom fitted with a bath, powerful rainfall shower, toilet, hand basin, large heated towel rail and illuminated mirror. The space The sitting room is full of charm, centred around a large inglenook fireplace and wood-burner, complete with a complimentary supply of logs, kindling and firelighters, plus a 32 inch LED TV with built-in DVD and Freeview. The modern kitchen has a dining table and is well equipped with a halogen hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster, along with a full complement of cookware, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Wireless broadband is available throughout. Outside, guests can enjoy a small courtyard with chairs just beyond the kitchen door, plus a private, unenclosed lawned garden situated across the quiet road opposite the cottage. Off-road parking is provided for two cars on a gravelled area across the road from the property. Dogs are welcome, up to a maximum of two, for a supplement of GBP 15 per dog; they should be kept off the furniture and upstairs, and not left alone in the property. The cottage is strictly non-smoking. A high chair can be provided on request, and there is space in the main bedroom for a travel cot, although one is not supplied. Please note there is no stair gate and the stairs are characteristically uneven, so the cottage may not be suitable for children unable to hold the banister. The property is not suitable for guests with restricted mobility and has no wheelchair access. Electricity and heating are included, with electric storage heaters throughout.
