The Spar House is a tiny, historic cottage that is over 200 years old in the heart of Abbotsbury village. It is surrounded by wildlife and conveniently located at the edge of a public footpath, giving access to walks with stunning views of the surrounding area. With its own cottage garden, it’s an ideal place to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of Abbotsbury. It was originally used by the local thatcher ‘The Basket Maker’ in the 1920s. The space The Spar House has an open plan living, dining, kitchen space downstairs with a double bed upstairs in the eaves. Bedding and towels provided but please bring your own beach towels. There is a sofa bed downstairs (£10 additional charge for bedding). It’s cosy and quirky! It has a cottage garden for guests, so you can sit back and enjoy a glass of something on the patio in the sunshine! To access the garden, you have to go through the stable door of the wet room! It’s unique….. The wet room has a shower, loo and very small sink. There are some quirky steps from the bedroom to the wet room, that might be tricky for the older generation. Please see photos for details. The kitchen area is well equipped with a variety of cooking equipment. There is an induction hob , air fryer, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. Tea, coffee, oil and herbs etc provided for you.
