Description
Dragonfly Lodge Ifold a self-catering apartment tucked away in beautifully quiet West Sussex countryside. This spacious self-contained ground floor flat, previously a large double garage, is a naturally light, modern space nestled in front of stunning woodland in our 7 acre garden and Alpaca field. With a river, canal, rolling fields, woods and a meca of footpaths on your doorstep, this is the perfect launchpad to explore the countryside by foot, bike or horse. It's dog walkers heaven. The space Dragonfly Lodge Ifold is an entire self-contained single-storey ground floor apartment with private entrance and parking. Light, modern and airy with views across fields, woodland and the Wey & Arun canal. The lodge is attached (via locked utility room) to our family home but feels very private. Spacious parking at the front of the lodge makes it easy to unload your things. The two large double patio doors lead into the open plan kitchen, dining and living room. There are vertical blinds to let in lots of light and give you extra privacy when desired. The lodge is well-kitted out with everything you should need to cook in the fully equipped large kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer. We include a welcome box with fresh ground coffee, organic teas, sugar, fresh juice, local eggs, bread, jam and butter (alternatives available on request). There are kitchen essentials like bin bags, dishwasher tablets, cling film, foil, soap and washing equipment for you to use. The King size bedroom has a comfy bed, quality Egyptian cotton linen, luxury wool duvet, hypo-allergenic pillows to make your stay as comfortable and hotel-like as possible. The bedroom has a smart TV and netflix. There is plenty of clothes storage space in the large wardrobe and chest of drawers. A patio door leads from the bedroom to the outside private enclosed patio and seating area/outdoor furniture and views into the woodland and our friendly Alpacas who will be grazing nearby. You will often see deer, foxes badgers cruising the woodland and farmers fields. A perfect secure outside space for you to relax with a glass of wine. The living room has a 2 seater reclining 'LazyBoy' leather sofa, arm chair and single chair sofabed. There is a smart tv, netflix and wifi. Cosy sofa blankets are provided for snuggling under or sitting on. In the large bathroom with walk in shower you will find soft Egyptian cotton towels and a selection of eco-friendly toiletries and plenty of storage. Well behaved dogs are very welcome to join you on your stay, please refer to our house rules for more details. We ask is that any dog mess is picked up and bagged (then put in the black wheelie bin) and that dogs stay on lead out of the front of the lodge - on our driveway and grass area where they can stretch their legs. This is so they can not roam free through hedgerow boundaries into our back field and Alpacas, or neighbouring farm land, or into Milo's garden. There are plenty of opportunities for quiet off lead dog walks straight from our entrance gate and footpaths which lead along the canal and to local villages and pubs. We have a young friendly Newfoundland dog, who is like a bulldozer. He may bark when you arrive and is kept separately in our garden and does not have access to the entrance gate or lodge parking area. He will be over the moon to greet you with his paws up on our patio gate - please do not be intimidated by his size, he likes to give guests who approach him a sniff and a lick! The lodge has been converted with couples in mind but you are very welcome to bring a baby / young child. There is space for a travel cot in the open plan kitchen/living area (or a very tight fit in the bedroom). We have a travel cot, highchair, books and toys that can be added on request. Extra linen for one additional single guest can be added for a small charge, to make up the single sofabed. Guest access You have the privacy of the lodge and patio to yourself for your stay. The driveway is shared with our household and we can show you the best place to park. Our driveway accesses the bridleway and footpaths along the Wey & Arun canal (Sussex Border Path) and there are plenty of stunning loops to walk and cycle. We gladly welcome guests to join us in feeding the Alpacas in the afternoon. Other things to note In the winter you'll need your welly boots to navigate the many footpaths and bridleways. Bring slippers too, as the hard floors in the lodge can feel cool under foot. Our access road occasionally floods during periods of heavy rainfall, alternative parking arrangements will be advised on arrival. We have a large Newfoundland dog who is very friendly, please don't worry if he barks as you arrive (just doing his duty). He is fenced in our garden, separately from the main gate and lodge parking area. He'll want to poke his nose up over our patio gate to say hello when you park. We have an external security camera that films our driveway and parking area.
