Gateway Cottage

Unique Rural cabin-renovated historic church with Wi-Fi, private washer/dryer,& kitchenette, fenced backyard and driveway parking. The space The historic home, formally St.Thomas's church was built in the 1930's. Constructed from Redwood and finished with a fir floor and paneling. It is located in a small valley where elk roam free to graze alongside the rancher's cattle. The valley is bordered by steep hills with towering Redwood trees comprising part of Redwood National park. Humboldt Lagoons State park is just to the south and the beach is nearby. Redwood creek is a short distance across the street from Gateway Cottage. The dike channeling the creek to the ocean is an accessible, visually stunning hike ending at the mouth where you can view sea birds and sea lions. Step into Gateway Cottage to an open layout that includes an updated kitchenette, dining area for four, a living area with a comfortable sofa, queen sized bed, full-sized futon, full sized Murphy bed, a full sized pull out couch, and a large wall mounted Roku TV. There are games for entertainment. Included is a laundry room with washer and dryer available for your use. Outside is a fully fenced backyard, Bar-B-Cue and picnic table. The backyard garden bursts with flowers in the late Summer. There is free parking for two vehicles. Guest access Check In after 4:00 P.M. Check Out at 11:00 There are horses on the property behind the church. DO NOT FEED! Horses can bite please keep your hands out of reach. Animals are territorial. It is best to stay safe and do not try to pet or interact with them. Other things to note Minimum age to book is 25 years old. Onsite parties or group events are strictly prohibited. Special requests are subject to availability upon check-in and may incurred additional charges, special requests cannot be guaranteed. Outside parties or groups are strictly prohibited. Smoke detector on property. Safety features include a fire extinguisher, a first aide kit,and deadbolt locks. Pets are NOT allowed. No smoking or vaping
