The Rural House of Grandpa Julián in El Hierro

Welcome to Casa del Abuelito Julián! Come and enjoy an authentic rural experience in the beautiful island of El Hierro. Our rural house has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom, toilet, gardens, BBQ, and stunning views of the ocean with the islands of La Gomera and Tenerife in the background. The space Casa Abuelito Julián is a Rural House from the early 20th century. Built by our great-grandfather Julian, and renovated with all kinds of amenities, it still retains the style of traditional Herreña architecture, noticeable in the semi-circular finishes, door-windows, or the preservation of the old cistern, under the living room of the house. The house has two floors, the upper floor has 84m2 and the lower floor has 45m2. Inside you will find two double bedrooms and two bathrooms, one on each floor; in addition, on the upper floor, the main area of the house has a spacious kitchen-dining room equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals (oven, ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and kitchenware), living room with radio & TV, and reading area, all restored from the original materials. You can also enjoy an independent terrace of 80m2 on the upper floor, and more than 2000 meters of orchards, gardens with barbecue, table, chairs, umbrella, and wooden loungers. You can take a relaxing walk to the fruit orchards that make up the surroundings of the house, and enjoy impressive views of the sea with the background of the islands of La Gomera and Tenerife, with the imposing Teide in the background. Therefore, the outdoor areas (gardens, orchards, barbecue area, laundry room, and parking) may be shared with guests from the other house (if it is occupied). Due to the law, we are required by the authorities to ask you to fill out the traveler information form with your personal data. Located in the village of Isora, in the municipality of Valverde, the houses of Abuelito Julián and Abuela Leonor are the result of a family effort to recover a first-century home, as well as its stable and barn, for use and enjoyment. The use of modern materials and access to all kinds of amenities in both houses does not prevent guests from enjoying the rural and austere essence with which they were originally conceived. On clear days, guests can enjoy wonderful views of the sea, with the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera in the background, and take walks through the landscaped areas and fruit orchards.
