Lawrence Cottage

Deep in the West River Valley region of Windham County, Lawrence Cottage is in a gorgeous and uncluttered setting upon Windham Hill. If you long for solitude, serenity and beauty, we have the perfect escape for you. We are convenient to all local amenities and activities and an easy drive from Boston or New York. We are near Townshend, Jamaica and Lowell Lake State Parks, Magic Mountain, Mount Snow and Stratton Mountain Resorts. This is Vermont--of course we welcome people of all backgrounds. The space The living room, large eat-in kitchen, washer/dryer, full bath and master bedroom are located downstairs. The kitchen also has a small, window-facing, work desk and chair with adjacent power plug and USB charger for laptop use. The upstairs bedroom has a locking door at the top. Its ceiling is a low, asymmetrical gable that is 6 feet (183 cm) at its highest point. The room has a half bath and its own heating and air conditioning. Guest access The entire house and grounds are yours. The barn and garage are closed for your safety. Other things to note There are two Smart TVs on the premises, one 50" (127 cm) in the downstairs living room and one 32" (81 cm) upstairs. There is no cable television service in this region. Both TVs allow viewing through our internet service; we have a subscription to Netflix for your entertainment. Lawrence Cottage offers Starlink satellite and DSL wi-fi, which are the only high-speed options available in very rural regions such as ours. Under certain conditions, both services may be subject to gaps and outages which, though rare, are possible. Note to winter guests: we have a 600ft (183m) driveway down to the house. We hire an excellent local service to handle snowplowing, sanding and shoveling; however, please be aware that after a significant snowfall, demand is high, and there may be delays in snow removal.
