The Green Chapel

Situated on the town green in the quaint village of Standlake, the green chapel is a refuge from city life. My dog Astro and I are here most weeks, but when we're away we're happy to offer it to guests who are looking for rejuvenation, country walks along the Thames, access to the Cotswolds, unwinding in the sauna, meditating in the loft, or reading a great book by the fireplace. This is my home, and was a former house of worship, so please treat the chapel and the neighbourhood with care. The space Renovated a decade ago by an inspired local architect and entrepreneur who preserved the authenticity of the building's past, the chapel is a blend of sustainability, simplicity, comfort and technology. 100% renewal biomass pellets fuel the fireplace which warms the chapel floor. A gigabit fibre wifi network, work and meditation lofts (carefully accessed only by ship-stairs and a ladder) allow for seclusion and focus. A Tesla charger allows any electric vehicle to recharge (free of charge). A Google Max wireless mesh hifi speaker system, and a 4K projector create a cinematic escape. Please note that the chapel is essentially one big hall acoustically - there is not much sound privacy between rooms, and the loo is right in the middle of it all! Guest access Guests have access to the entire home, but should take special care walking the floating staircase (as it has a minimal rail), and using the ship-stairs or ladder to the lofts. Other things to note If you have to park on the street, please take care to leave the sidewalk completely free. It's ok to park directly in front of the front door with the car entirely on the street.
