Magical Pond House

The Pond House is in a little world of its own. Hidden among trees, on the edge of the mill pond, in spring it is surrounded by wild garlic and bluebells, in summer by bird song and the soft burbling of the Westbrook stream. Newly built to the highest environmental standards and using local wood, it is warm and exceedingly peaceful. It shares a private valley with the Enchanted Mill (16767255) and can be rented together or separately. The space The Pond House is 6m X 6m and feels spacious. We built it last year as a retreat and it is the most peaceful and lovely place imaginable; you feel as if you are in the trees. Inside, it echoes the ancient mill, with a double-height main room and gallery, which has extra sleeping and a desk. It is well-insulated, and also has heating and a very effective wood-burning stove. Guest access To get there, you drive down a long, quite bumpy track, then park and walk through the orchard to the house. Guests have access to the pond, stream and all surrounding estate walks. There is a garden table and chairs. Across the pond, there may be guests at the Mill, so please be sensitive to each other's privacy - though there are acres and acres of wilderness to share! Other things to note There is a stream and a pond so small children must be monitored by adults at all times.
