A 20min drive will get you to Southsea seafront which has plenty of activities and events particularly in summer. And with Gunwharf Quays close by there's plenty of choice for those who like to shop, or eat and drink out. Guest access Microwave and tea/coffee available anytime. During your stay I will be in and out during the evenings as I often do sport.
