By car it takes 2 hours and 30 minutes from Oslo or Drammen on the road, Riksveg 7, toward Bergen. This place is suitable for visits during summer as well as winter. HADDINGHUS is located between 4 well-known ski resorts. 14 km from Nesbyen alpinsenter and Gol alpinsenter. 39 km from Hemsedal Alpinsenter, 62 km from Geilo. These ski resorts offer both downhill slopes and beautiful cross-country skiing routes. The slopes have all production of artificial snow. Nesbyen is Norway's hottest place (35.6 C) with good and stable weather all summer, suitable for summer activities. An open air museum, Hallingdal folkemuseum, as well as Nesbyen's well-known downhill bike slopes are to be found here. Early in June, the annual music festival Festspillene takes place, and early in July, Hallingmarken is arranged. In August, there is a dog show, a meeting of caravan enthusiasts, and Kjerringtorget, a fair for practical art, self-made products and traditional food. It is under one hour driving to the famous Langedrag, the park for all kind of Norwegian animals, also wild ones.
