Description
WELCOME Built in 2019 under the guidance of a wheelchair using friend we have provided most, but not all, of the facilities to suit our less mobile visitors, although everyone is more than welcome to stay with us. It is styled around a rustic theme and is located around 5 miles (8km) from the A1 and 3 miles (5km) from the M62 motorways, with good road/rail links from 3 local stations and a bus terminus. All our guests have the full private use of the detached annexe during their stay. The space FIRST OF ALL WELCOME TO YINGYANGPAD The accommodation has step free access and level entry through both wide doorways which are well lit after dusk. There is plenty of room for movement inside and outside. Off street parking is provided on a private driveway in front of the accommodation. There is an external private patio area to the side which can be floodlit after dusk if required, or has solar powered lighting for a little more ambience. External power is available via 13 amp sockets for mobility scooter/ebike, or escooter charging at a separate daily cost (£10.00 per unit) which is payable locally. Unfortunately we do not offer car or van charging but there are charging points available nearby. Inside there is a fitted kitchen which has a full electric cooker, microwave oven, slow cooker, refrigerator, washing machine, kettle, toaster and a separate tumble dryer in the adjacent wooden shed. The kitchen base units have push to open and close doors. Crockery/cutlery are provided including the essential bottle opener. The kitchen worktop is split level to accommodate food preparation/dining from a wheelchair, or as a small computer workstation. There is also a moveable butchers block type work station which contains the cutlery, pans and cooking aids. Because you are able to cater on site we do ask that guests refrain from cooking highly spiced or other food with distinctive odours as the aroma is difficult to remove and may be offensive to forthcoming guests. Hot and cold water are delivered to the sink through one lever controlled tap. The temperature of the hot water being restricted to 55C. Your open plan living and bedroom area has a two seater leather settee as well as two lightweight metal framed single beds with ample mobility access and storage underneath. The beds can be pushed together if required. We have “elephants feet” type risers for both beds to raise its current height of 24 inches (60cm) to 28 inches (70 cm) and 30 inches (75cm) if required. Fold down hangers are attached to the walls around the property. All the furniture is lightweight and moveable so you can configure the room to your liking depending on your individual needs. We are happy to help you do this if needed. There are two lightweight chairs and a table available for dining, or a tray table if you don't want things too formal. There is a further lightweight table with make up mirror and small table lamp adjacent to the electric fire. The main door has mirror film applied to prevent passers by looking in during the day BUT it is important to note that pulling down the blinds is necessary after dark when the interior lights are in use. This room has a velux window for additional light and ventilation which means it is not completely dark and cannot be made to be light free. If you need a completely darkened room to sleep we have eye masks available, or you can bring your own if you prefer. The unit has a wall mounted TV with Firestick facility and a separate mini hub. There is wi-fi available and one USB charging point. The heating is electric consisting of wall mounted radiators, a bathroom towel rail and a floor standing electric fire, all of which become hot during use and are NOT to be covered by any items to prevent a fire risk. There is a rug in front of the settee and one between the beds which can be moved if required. The shower room has either 2 small steps - approx. 3 inches each (75mm) or there is an aluminium ramp available rated at 300Kg for wheelchair/easier access if required. The barn door to the shower room slides to one side to provide entry and slides back for privacy. The door is raised up from the floor level so that it shuts with the ramp in place.
