Description
Spend the night in the peaceful countryside and in an old manor house from the 15th century full of history. The apartment is located in a wing of the manor house - a unique experience in the picturesque north of Jutland. There is free access to the collection during your stay, enjoy exploring a unique collection of works by renowned Danish artist J. F. Willumsen and a cup of coffee in the cafe located in the the old manor house kitchen. The space The ‘Cavalier Wing’ is a historic part of the manor house that was fully renovated in 2017. The 78 sq m apartment has new wooden floors, a new kitchen and a new bathroom to cater to modern comforts in a historic setting. The apartment is comprised of a long hall, a dining/living room, a bathroom, a bedroom and a kitchen. The kitchen is fully equiped with oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee maker and dishes/pots and pans. Essentials such as coffee and tea are also provided as well as a simple breakfast for the first morning (requires a stay of minimum 2 nighst). The bathroom has a shower, washing machine, dryer (and all other standard items). Linen, towels and wifi (and chromecast). We will answer all inquiries but please allow for a 24 answer as we try to manage requests during opening hours. Odden Manor House and the Victor Petersen’s J. F. Willumsen Collection Odden is the northernmost manor house in Denmark. It was built on a hill, surrounded by moats, rivulets and a lake. The collection house at the manor house documents all aspects of Willumsen’s work, spanning from his childhood drawings to the final unfinished paintings. It demonstrates the work process that preceded some of his most famous paintings, such as “The Female Mountaineer”, “Bathing Children”, and “After the Storm”.
