Circa 1880 home, located directly on the Sawkill Creek. Frank McCourt resided in the properties renovated barn while writing his Pulitzer Prize winning book Angela's Ashes. The home is moderately sized and occupies three floors. Enjoy the sights & sound of the Sawkill creek and the professionally-designed gardens as you relax on the well appointed, blue stone and brick, back patio. The space The Creekside Cottage is located directly on the Sawkill Creek. So bring your water shoes! Our property is directly behind the Water Wheel Cafe. They serve amazing breakfast, lunch (7days a week) and dinners (Thursday, Friday, Saturday.) Serenity and a great sense of peace abound at this beautiful location. Your home away from home is as secluded as you want it to be but still offers shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We offer two parking spots for off-street parking. Since we cater almost exclusively to corporate travelers and couples. The house is not set up to entertain more than 4-6 visitors, and only few hours during your visit. For example a small dinner party or meeting. No more than two guests are permitted overnight unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon. An additional overnight guest fee does apply. These rules are put in place to safeguard our property and home. However exceptions to the rule are always considered once you have booked. So please do not feel so restricted. Concessions and considerations are made on a case-by-case basis :-) Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, outdoor patio area and side yard. Our property also has a restored barn with a long-term tenant. The barn has its own outside area and we ask that you give them their space. Occasionally you will see a black cat wander through the yard. Sorry, it's his Turf and can't be helped LOL. The front door leads you into a beautiful foyer boasting a shared fireplace with the living room beyond. Taking the stairs up will take you to the master suite which occupies the entire third floor. Taking the stairs down leads you to the kitchen. At the back of the kitchen is a utility space where the washer and dryer is housed, along with a second bathroom. There is no need to wash any of your linens or towels as a weekly cleaning service is provided during your stay that also includes vacuuming, dusting and sanitizing of the kitchen and baths. Other things to note Milford is a beautiful quiet down. Our home is located on a quiet street with neighbors. We ask that you treat this home and our neighbors with the upmost respect! Please keep any outside music to a moderately low volume.
