Experience our quirky take on glamping! Together with a cozy bed and bio ethanol stove inside, the barn benefits from a private garden with stunning views, seating and a firepit. We also offer a choice of Italian suppers, appetizers and breakfast. The space Our cozy barn is furnished simply. It includes: a comfy double bed, a small table and 2 chairs, 1 eco-friendly bio-stove for warmth and 2 bed side tables. Duvet, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. A tank of fresh drinking water from our well is provided daily. There is one main electric light but no sockets or WIFI in the barn. Lighting for the bedside tables is provided by way of 2 battery operated storm lanterns. We provide rechargeable batteries. There are no cooking facilities in the barn but you will have exclusive use of a firepit in the garden area adjacent to the barn. 1 small starter bag of logs and kindling is included in the price. Additional bags of logs are for sale for £7.00 each. The bio-fire stove uses ethanol fuel, which gives 2.5 hours of heat at full blast. We fill the stove for the first night of your stay. You can request extra refills for £7.00 a bottle. We provide crockery and cutlery. Next to the barn there is a washing up area, with a bowl and drainer. We also provide eco-friendly washing up liquid. No other products are to be used. The compost toilet and the basic cold shower are within the washing up area, surrounded by shrubs. The compost toilet features a urine diverter; therefore it is essential that both men and women sit to pee! Only toilet roll can be discarded in the toilet. There is a bin for any other waste. The shower next to the toilet is very basic. It consists of 1 camping shower bag with shower head which we refill daily. There is not hot water. We provide eco-friendly shower gel and shampoo. No other products are to be used. Guest access To check in, please knock loudly on the door knocker at the cottage. We will then be able to show you the way to the barn, which is up some steps at the end of the cottage. Other things to note Check in is between 3pm and 7pm. Check out is strictly by 10am. Breakfast is available from £8. We serve it strictly between 8.00am and 9.00am. Guests can choose from 1 of the following options: - 2 slices of homemade artisan bread with butter plus jam, honey or marmite. - Bacon buttie. - Scrambled eggs on toast. - Bacon & Egg sandwich All our bread is homemade and the eggs are from our own free range hens. A pot of Yorkshire Tea or a cafetiere of good coffee is also included in the breakfast. Here at Crackpot cottage we can serve a choice of suppers and appetisers. With Emanuela being Italian, we have a passion for Italian food, especially pizzas, which we make from scratch and have proven to be a great success! We serve dinner strictly between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.
