This private holiday home has been designed to create the perfect setting for family or friends’ group holidays with every possible activity available in the extensive perfectly manicured gardens. If you venture out it is a short drive to the stunning South Downs, glorious south coast beaches, Glyndebourne Opera House and dozens of charming villages & places of historical interest. We blend a super efficient property layout with a homely feel, surrounded by ecclectic, fun design. The space Old Glebe is made up of the Big House and the Cottage, and they are only ever let together, so the whole place is yours to enjoy in complete privacy. The Cottage is perfect for grandparents, those with babies or anyone who’d like their own space (it also works well for chefs or staff although the kitchen is only kitted out for simple meals). It’s every bit as lovely as the Big House and just a 30-second wander across the gravel. The houses sits in the centre of 30 acres of gardens and grounds, with 6 acres of flower gardens, orchard, lawns, vegetable patches, fruit cages, woodland paths, and plenty of spots to disappear to with a book or a picnic. There’s a brilliant outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven, gas BBQ, wine fridge, and bar, made for long, lazy days. The swimming pool is heated from April to October (weather permitting) and has an electric safety/heat cover. The tennis court doubles as a 5-a-side pitch for year-round games (NO Astros, please). There’s also a full-size trampoline, various places to sit and linger, and a quiet little greenhouse when you want a moment to yourself. You’re very welcome to pick fruit or veg, set up croquet on the lawn, or wander across the fields past the fallen tree picnic spot to the excellent local pub. The Big House has seven bedrooms: four generous en-suites that feel like proper master rooms, and three smaller but very comfortable ones sharing a family bathroom. Up in the attic room there are two extra single beds, great as a family room or for a group of sibbings. Downstairs, the kitchen/dining room is the heart of the house, with a big table for 16–20 and everything you need to cook for a crowd: Aga, range cooker, two fridges, two dishwashers, and all the essentials. It’s well set up for long meals that turn into longer evenings playing games or having a little dance (there are speakers in the ceiling). There’s a large reception room for gathering everyone together to play games, watch films or just collapsing in front of the fire. You’ll also find a games room with table tennis, and a snug with another open fire that’s perfect for cards or a quiet read. The Cottage has a spacious open-plan living room and kitchen, with a table for eight. It’s ideal for breakfasts or simpler meals (the Big House kitchen is better for full-scale cooking). Upstairs are three bedrooms: a lovely king room with a freestanding bath and en-suite shower, another king with an en-suite bath/shower (shared with the third bedroom), and a smaller double that’s cosy but perfectly comfortable. Guest access The whole of the property is availabe for the guests exclusive use, although there may be some sheep on some of the fields, so gates must be closed carefully. Other things to note Old Glebe is a private holiday home but guest rentals are contracted through the owner's trading name of Wonderful Escapes. All bookings are made in line with the Owners Terms and Conditions of hire which will be sent to the lead guest after booking via email. Minimum night bookings are: 3 week ends, 4 bank holidays inc. New Year, 7 Christmas & Summer School Holidays.
