Kronprins Olavs Villa - Fully En-Suite, Great View

A fantastic opportunity to vacation in Kronprins Olavs Villa on the island of Godøysund in Tysnes. Huge outdoor deck with fjord and mountain views, perfect for large groups or families. All 7 bedrooms are en-suite, with underfloor heating in all bathrooms/wetrooms, spacious communal social areas, and stunning views. Sleeps up to 21 (4 x double beds, 2 x single beds, 1 x family bunk bed, 4 x double sofa beds, +2 cots/cribs). Separated into upper and lower apartments, with external staircase. The space Kronprins Olavs Villa is unique, having been originally gifted to the infant Crown Prince of Norway, the future King Olav, in the early part of the 20th century. KPOV, as it is known, is a substantial property with plentiful indoor and outdoor social space, as well as sizeable bedrooms to the second floor. All bedrooms are ensuite. The views are spectacular, with sweeping views of mountains, forests and the fjord. Sit back, relax and enjoy a BBQ and a glass of wine on the deck with friends & family; or use the villa as a jumping off point for exploring the West Coast of Norway with plenty of outdoor activities and the Hardangerfjord within easy reach, as well as the numerous attractions and places of interest in nearby Bergen (a perfect day trip). If you are so inclined, we also offer use of a large boathouse (with private external docking area) - you are more than welcome to bring your boat along on your vacation! Guest access The property is split into a ground floor and an upper apartment with an external staircase between the two; the layout is described further below. Ground floor apartment: 3 ground floor en-suite bedrooms provide direct access to the deck area with spectacular views of Godøysund island its surroundings. The master contains a king-sized bed and cot/crib, with a jacuzzi-bath and showerhead attachment; the adjacent room has two single beds and shower room; the third bedroom has a family bunk (small double with a single on top) and shower room. All bedrooms have a view (through French doors) of the mountain, Tysnessåta. A well-apportioned kitchen with breakfast bar leads into an open plan dining area and living room with various entertainment options provided. Underfloor heating is available in the bedrooms, bathrooms and social areas on the ground floor. Please note, there are small steps to rooms on ground floor, with same level access to each room from the deck area. The upper apartment: The first floor provides access to the upper apartment via a large covered porch area. There is a large, open plan kitchen/dining/living room with a small balcony area adjacent to the kitchen. A utility room and WC are situated in the hallway. The second floor provides 4 further spacious en-suite bedrooms (with showers), all featuring the additional benefit of double sofa beds. Of the main beds: one bed is a super king, one a king, one a double, and one is a large frame featuring 2 single mattresses; there is also a cot/crib. The rooms are named according to their view: Fjord , Mountain, Beech, and Woodland. There is underfloor heating in the hallways, communal internal social space and en-suite bathrooms in the upper apartment. There are also some abandoned construction areas/buildings/materials around the wider island; therefore, please ensure that small children are supervised at all times. There are two cots/cribs at the property (one in each apartment), and you are of course welcome to bring your own. However, please note that the property is not 'babyproofed', or 'childproofed', and is therefore not recommended for infants and/or small children. We are sorry, but the sunken hot tub is out of order. An inflatable hot tub has been provided as an alternative. Additional plumbing works undertaken in 2 top floor bathrooms 2023-4. Boat rental: Available on production of a valid licence. Our small boat (15ft, 50hp, seats max. 5) is perfect for a spot of sea fishing, a last minute run to the supermarket, heading for an evening at Mandelhuset, or a tour of the local fjord. Rental fees (on top of Villa rental fees) are 1,250 NOK per day (minimum rental period 5 days) or 7,000 NOK per week.
