Located on the banks of the River Coln in the beautiful Cotswold village of Quenington, The Cottage is attached to the stunning Grade II Listed Old Rectory. Situated 15 minutes from the historic bustling market town of Cirencester and 40 minutes from Cheltenham with its world famous racecourse. The nearby town of Fairford offers beautiful walks along the old mill and a famous church. There is a lovely, quaint pub a 2 minute walk away offering great food and cosy settings. The space Originally, staff quarters for the main house, The Cottage is self-contained with its own entrance. It has 2 upstairs bedrooms and a bathroom, and downstairs is the modern kitchen, sitting room with fire and laundry room. The cottage has been recently refurbished and the new kingsize and 2 single beds will be made up with white, Egyptian cotton linens. Set on a river within private 5-acre gardens with private outdoor swimming pool, the grounds are host to a biennial sculpture show so The Cottage has been decorated with interesting artworks and objects from the owners’ collection. The Cottage will include fresh flowers, picked from our garden the morning of your arrival and a jar of honey, made from our very own bees! Guest access Guests have their own, private entrance and parking place. The cottage has its own private garden, but guests are also free to explore the owner's large 5-acre garden, complete with river, tennis court & a number of beautiful sculptures and pieces of art . There is also private heated swimming pool, which can be made available for guest use by prior arrangement from June - October (additional charge). Other things to note The beautiful pool is heated through the season. It can be used by the guests but we have to charge a fee due to the upkeep and expenses of keeping it heated. There is a charge of £20 per hour if you use it, which is to be paid prior to use. We can offer electric car charging at a cost of 0.40p per KW. If you are coming with children, do let us know and we can leave some little bits out to entertain them! We also have a lovely tree swing (if you can find it hidden amongst the leaves of our huge Copper Beech tree!) and a beautiful wooden Wendy house they are welcome to use. Children have previously taken their breakfast in here! There is also a large play park a 5 minute walk away. If you are staying for a special occasion, please let us know if we can help in any way.
