Comfy, quiet beach cottage for walking & seafood

'The Cabin' is a comfortable, bright, two bedroom cottage on Mersea Island, near Colchester, a few steps from the sea on a much sought after quiet lane. There are two double bedrooms, one with a Super King bed the other with a King size bed and a bunk bed. There are great walks and bike rides either along the sea wall or on the beach, and some fantastic seafood eateries. Mersea Island is off the coast of Essex, 9 miles southeast of Colchester, just one hour from London. The space Mersea still has an air of the past about it, retaining it's traditional sailing boats and fishing fleet. In the summer months it has a very active water sport scene with paddle boards, windsurfers and kayaks available to hire, we also have a kayak available for a small fee. Seafood plays a large part in Mersea life with 'The Company Shed' and 'Dukes' on the sea front and a great fish and chip shop & 'The White Hart' a new hotel and restaurant in the village a 15 minute walk away. On land there are numerous walks and a nature reserve on East Mersea where the coast has a totally different feel. Mersea is also has its own red squirrels which were introduced in 2013. The house is decorated and furnished with high spec and comfortable furniture including a Super King bed in the master bedroom & a King in the second room with a Tempur dual sprung mattress, medium on one side soft on the other, great quality linens and super comfy sofas. Guest access The house is on an island so check out the tides before you travel. www stroodcam Guests have access to the whole house but not the garage. There is a kayak to hire. Other things to note The house is on an island so make sure to check out www stroodcam before your journey to make sure that the tide isn’t over the access road. The EV charger is a three pin plug charger from the garage. The code will be given on receipt of a £10 extra services fee per charge through Airbnb. Bikes are a great asset and everything is in cycling distance so try and stay parked and cycle! We accept well behaved dogs but not upstairs or on the sofas!
