Well Cottage

Well Cottage was created from the former wash-house and bakery for Townsend Farm, dating from 1858. It is fronted by an authentic cobbled courtyard and stands, together with the farmhouse, in a romantic English country garden. The cottage is warm, comfortable and refurbished to a high standard. The view to the rear is across cultivated farmland. It is the perfect retreat for garden lovers and horticulturalists. There are several areas of planting interests, glass houses and a wildlife pond. The space Well Cottage has 2 bedrooms (one double & one single) and a shower/WC upstairs. There is a fully equipped kitchen-dining room, sitting room and a WC, downstairs. Guests are requested not to use the sitting room as an additional bedroom. The cottage is not suitable for 3 single adults, families with more than one child or children under 3 years. The wood burning stove in the sitting room is for aesthetic effect only and therefore not in use. Free Wi-Fi. There is a south facing, rear terrace with several seating areas. The wildlife pond is home to Mallard ducks, moorhens, newts and dragon flies. It is a tranquil setting to watch the sunset. The garden has been featured in the English Garden Magazine. The cottage and the garden are for the enjoyment of our guests only. Parking on premises for two cars.
