River Thames Glamping in Secret Garden near Oxford
Description
Riverside escape in idyllic setting in a 5m bell tent, completely off-grid, now including 2 kayaks & paddles. An exclusive single pitch at the end of our 2 acre garden overlooking the River Thames and Wittenham Clumps. Perfect for a complete getaway, surrounded by wildlife, ideal for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and wild swimming. Our village of Dorchester is only 10 minutes walk with its four pubs, three tea-rooms, the Abbey and the Coop and of course Oxford is only 8 miles away. The space Hot showers are made by heating water in a whistling kettle on a camping stove or log burner, then mixing with cold water until temperature is just right. Then carry the bucket to adjacent bathroom tent and lower in the brilliant Colapz battery shower pump system and off you go. Portable flush toilet also provided for your convenience. There is space to sit outside the tent under the canopy overhang and further seating around the fire-pit right by the river. A small open cabin provides wind and rain shelter where you'll find the camp kitchen. Bring plenty of warm clothing if its expected to be cool or windy. Also don't forget a couple of good torches to complement the solar lighting provided. The tent contains a keep cool box. Enough firewood is provided for a couple of days but more can be obtained for a small charge. Guest access Please park on the driveway and we'll provide you with a trolley to take your belongings to the tent. Alternatively as some guests have done, you can arrive by boat and moor at the end of the garden! Other things to note Infants are welcome but you will need to take extra care of them due to the proximity of the river. We are happy to provide an infant mattress but please bring your own bedding and toddler kit.
