Goji Cottage, Domaine Sérénité

Domaine Serenite is an eco-friendly leisure farm 20 min drive from Clarens, surrounded by the beautiful Lesotho Mountains. It is accessible through 5.5km of unsealed road, 4WD is advised during rain season. We live 100% off the grid, windmill turbine and solar panels generate our electricity. Our micro-farm was set up to be energy conscious while allowing very comfortable and luxury accommodation. We hope that during and after your stay you will feel serene, close to nature and energised. The space Cottage Goji is a secluded retreat nestled away from the main buildings, designed for comfort and privacy. Suitable for up to six people, this spacious cottage offers the perfect setting for families or small groups seeking tranquility. The accommodation features a main queen bedroom with an en-suite bathroom complete with both bathtub and shower for ultimate relaxation. A second twin bedroom comes with its own en-suite bathroom with shower, while a charming loft upstairs houses two single beds—ideal for children or additional guests. Every aspect of Cottage Goji was thoughtfully positioned to maximize the natural beauty surrounding it. The two bedrooms, living room, and patio all offer sweeping views of the magnificent mountains, allowing you to enjoy both breathtaking sunrises and spectacular sunsets from the comfort of your accommodation. Step outside to discover a private boma (traditional enclosed outdoor area), ideal for evening gatherings under the stars. The covered patio features a built-in braai where you can prepare your delicious meals while taking in the panoramic mountain vistas that stretch before you. A double undercover carport is available to keep your vehicles protected during your stay at this peaceful mountain hideaway. Guest access Our guests will be able to hike and walk around the farm (~60 ha), do not hesitate to ask us for directions for short and long hikes starting from the cottage. The vibrant Clarens village is 20 min drive from the farm. Other things to note A 4WD, especially during the rainy season is advisable to reach the property. We ask our guest to be electricity conscious as we are fully off the grid! Winter Firewood: During the winter season, we provide complimentary firewood sufficient for the indoor fireplace for your first night. Please note this wood is not intended for braai purposes. Pet Policy: To ensure the comfort of all our guests, Domaine Sérénité maintains a strict no-pets policy. Electricity Use (Off-Grid Solar): We are proud to run on an eco-friendly, off-grid solar power system. To prevent overloading the system and causing power interruptions, we kindly ask that you do not bring or use high-energy consuming electrical appliances, such as auxiliary heaters, personal coffee makers, etc. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping us manage our sustainable power source. Drinking Water: Our water comes from a borehole and is drinkable and of good quality – a rare and precious resource. We encourage you to refill your reusable water bottles from any tap. Every new disposable bottle purchased contributes unnecessarily to waste. Activities at Domaine Sérénité (ask us for details!): Hiking Trails: We have developed many trails right here on the property, leading to caves and waterfalls. Options range from easy to medium difficulty, short strolls to longer hikes. You can find a map and details here. Natural Swimming Pool: Enjoy our 15m x 6m pool (1.2 – 1.8m deep) fed by a natural spring (children must be supervised). Don't be surprised if you meet the odd tadpole sharing the water!
