The Purple Boat is perfect for 2 and can accommodate 4, Pet friendly. Try a fun family or cosy couples holiday on the UK canals starting from the historic inland waterways port of Shardlow. Travel along the Trent & Mersey Canal towards Fradley, through countryside and villages including Willington & Alrewas. Journey along the canal, aqueducts and river. Relax on the large sun deck at the end of each day. Cost of hire includes fuel, free car parking, life jackets and boat handling tuition. The space Aboard The Purple Boat you have the choice of either a large Kingsize bed in the forward cabin, and convert the dinette into a double bed or choose to have twin beds instead of the Kingsize in the forward cabin. The galley kitchen has everything you will need including a microwave, gas oven & hob, kettle, pots, pans, cutlery and electric fridge freezer. Heating the boat is by an effective central heating radiator system. The bathroom has a flush toilet (pump out not cassette, so you don’t have to empty the toilet), large shower and useful basin. There is a selection of DVD’s to play, or just watch telly. The large deck at the stern of the boat is the perfect place to relax on canvas chairs (provided) at the end of the day and watch the wildlife on the towpath and canal. Guest access The Purple Boat is moored on the Trent and Mersey Canal by the tow path outside our house. It is a very peaceful and tranquil area. Free off road parking with CCTV is at the back of our property where you will be able to unload and leave your vehicle for the duration of your holiday. There are steps into the boat and obviously the boat is on water so any children must be closely supervised. The village of Willington is only a few hours cruise away by canal. Other things to note Space is limited on narrow boats, so please bear this in mind when packing for clothes and food. Please bring bottled water because we don’t recommend drinking water from the boat tank. Water from the tank is perfectly safe to shower in, clean teeth etc. Remember to bring sunscreen, it is easy to burn when the weather is good. Please bring non slip shoes and a waterproof coat, just in case!
