Description

Pretty cabin tucked away in a quiet walled garden close to Titchfield. Quiet and secluded, with a feeling of being in the countryside with fields over the wall and trees behind, but within walking distance to parks, pubs, cafes and beaches. The space Magic Cottage is a pretty wooden cabin in the peaceful walled garden of our 16th Century converted stables house, close to Titchfield and 2 miles from Hill Head/Lee on Solent beaches. The cabin can be made up with a very comfy super kingsize bed or twins, and we can add a child's mattress for an extra little one if needed. The bed will be made up as a super kingsize as standard. Please request specifically when booking if you would like twin beds. (Please note, Magic Cottage is only suitable for up to two adults and one child, not three adults). The cabin catches the morning sun, so it's lovely to open up the doors and let the light flood in, or sit outside on the decking and enjoy the sunshine. Magic Cottage has a seating area with sofa, coffee table and TV with Freeview. It has a microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and sink in the kitchen area and a gas barbecue with side burner on the deck but no full cooking facilities. So you can keep some wine and nibbles cool in the fridge, put together a picnic, warm up a ready meal, or cook up a barbecue or full English for breakfast, but not rustle up a slap up meal. It also has an en suite shower room, and a terrace to enjoy the sun in the mornings. The cabin is built from recycled materials and so has a rustic feel. Everything we do follows an eco philosophy including green electricity and even the throw on the bed is made from recycled plastic bottles. The essentials are there for when you arrive - tea, coffee, sugar, milk for a cuppa, and oil, salt and pepper for cooking. For chilly weather, there is a really efficient wood burning stove style electric heater in the cabin that takes no time to heat up the room. It makes it really cosy. In the winter we also put in a small oil filled electric radiator for background heat, which can be left on low all the time if it’s chilly. We don't provide breakfast, but there is a good little shop under 10 minutes' walk or two minutes' drive away open from 7am til 11pm. It's a Co-op with with fresh fruit and veg, meat, wine, beer and most things you could need for your stay. Even fresh croissants baked on-site every morning, which you can bring back warm from the oven. The gas bbq is easy to flash up and cook whatever you fancy for breakfast. There are Chinese and Indian takeaways that deliver, and fish and chip shops to eat on the deck or take to the beach. There are also a couple of good pubs nearby, and some excellent cafes (we are coffee fiends, and can point you in the right direction for the best coffee). You can also drive along the seafront to Gosport and catch the ferry to Portsmouth where you can visit the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose at the Historic Naval Dockyard and museums, or visit Gunwharf Quays with restaurants, bars, cinemas, bowling and outlet shopping. Much better than driving into Portsmouth, and more of an 'adventure'. We also run a kitesurfing school, so this is the perfect place to come and stay for a kitesurfing break or course. Our standard check in time is after 3pm and check out before 11am. Though we do try and be flexible if we can, so sometimes you may be able to arrive earlier or leave later, but please can you arrange with us in advance. Please note that we may be in New Zealand (see our other listings!). We have people manage Magic Cottage for us, so it is still available to the same high standard. However, it may mean that I can't answer questions or enquiries immediately before you book. So please don't think I am ignoring you, or that Magic Cottage is unavailable. Of course, you can still book in the normal way over airbnb, and I will accept your booking when I get online. I hope you can come and stay! Zoe Guest access Guests have the cabin and deck to themselves. Magic Cottage is within our walled garden, and has an area of garden that is screened off and private. We ask that you stay within that area for your privacy and ours, as we live across the other side of the garden. Other things to note We are happy to accept dogs if they are well behaved, and do not bark all the time, as we have to consider other guests and our neighbours. There is an extra £15 fee for dogs, and we ask that you bring your own bed for them and keep them off the furnishings and under your control in the cabin and your private part of the garden at all times, and that you pick up any poop in the garden/driveway straight away please. Please keep dogs on leads on the driveway and when walking across the main garden to and from the cabin. The fee is not included in your airbnb booking, please can you leave cash on the table when you leave. Magic Cottage will be made up with a superkingsize bed, unless single beds are requested. There is an extra fee of £20 for making up as singles.
