Elms Barn, Peak District National Park

An individual and characterful large detached stone country house, with an acre of stunning landscaped gardens. Located in the idyllic village of Wetton in the heart of the Peak District National Park. There are walks on your doorstep including Thor's cave, Wetton Mill and Dovedale Nature Reserve close by. We are also close to other attractions such as Alton Towers and Chatworth House. The village has a pub and tearoom. The property is perfect for gatherings of family and friends. The space There are four double bedrooms located on the ground floor - two doubles and two twins. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The other three bedrooms share a family bathroom. Three of the bedrooms have direct access to the wonderful garden. Upstairs there is a stunning open plan lounge and dining room - a fantastic room for a large family and/or friends to socialise. It's a light and airy space, with a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, a raised hearth with log burning stove and incredible views over the garden and beyond. There is a large breakfast-kitchen. Outside you will find everything you need to enjoy the garden: bbq, table and chairs. Guests are also welcome to enjoy herbs from the garden. There is private parking at the front of the property for 4-5 cars. Elms Barn is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised according to Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol before all guests arrive and we provide cleaning supplies that you can use during your stay. Guest Access You will have the entire house and grounds to yourself however we are close by to help you out with anything you need. Please note the nearest large supermarket is 20 minutes away in Ashbourne (or Leek/Buxton approx 30 mins). I would suggest you organise an food delivery for your arrival. A small shop can also be found in the next village, Hartington (10 mins drive). There is fridge in the kitchen for guests to use, and a further fridge plus freezer in the utility room - so plenty of space for storing food for everyone! Things to Note In the shared bathroom there is a bath with a hand shower attachment. There is another bath plus separate shower in the en-suite bathroom. The property is in a rural location and the property has thick walls. As such mobile phone reception in the property is limited. You can sometime get it is the house, but it is better at the top of the garden. There is wifi in the house. It is a characterful property with exposed beams throughout and wooden floors in the large open plan living space upstairs. If you have children running around upstairs, you will hear them in the bedrooms downstairs. Guest access You will have use of the entire house, however we do keep some of our things in the study which is not used by guests. Other things to note We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights of what we do: o sanitise high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob o use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and our cleaners wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination o clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists o provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay o comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines
