Artists Cabin at the foot of the South Downs Way

Our restful cabin is situated in a peaceful spot within our garden, with views on to open fields and the Downs beyond. It offers a perfect rest spot for walkers and cyclists exploring the beautiful countryside on and around the South Downs Way. Our village has two fabulous pubs, a unique village shop with its own little outdoor cafe, and is just a 15 minute drive from the market town of Petworth, Polo at Midhurst, 20 minutes from Goodwood, and 1/2 hour from the Cathedral City of Chichester. The space I have converted my former art studio into a calm and comfortable retreat which is an ideal overnight rest for walkers on the South Downs Way. The cabin is east-facing, warm and light, and simply yet comfortably equipped for your stay. The cabin has a comfortable king size bed, a small sink area with kettle for coffee and tea, a microwave, toaster and mini fridge. Within the cabin is a shower room with WC and hand basin. There is a table and chairs for you to use on the little patio area outside the cabin, and a lovely grassy area beneath the apple tree where you can sit on warm evenings with a rug, but please be aware it is part of our garden and not a separated outside area with fenced boundaries. In the mornings and evenings you often spot deer in the field and barn owls hunting, and the birdsong is wonderful too! Guest access Our house is centrally located in our village, a five - ten minute walk from both pubs and the village shop. There is a small gravel parking area, with one spacious parking space for your car. The cabin is reached by walking up a brick path through the garden. To reach the South Downs Way you simply walk up the lane towards the church, and there you will find a number of access footpaths up onto the Downs. Other things to note The cabin is fairly near to our house, and looks out onto our garden, but we will respect your privacy at all times. We have a friendly Labrador who may sometimes be in the garden, but who won't bother you! The outside patio area is exclusively for your use, but you may occasionally glimpse us in the garden. However, we will totally respect your privacy in the cabin.
