Description

A luxury Grade II listed self-catering home that sleeps 10 in Cartmel, Lake District, Cumbria. Refurbished to a superior 5 star standard. The accommodation offers luxury and comfort along with many original features – character beams, log fires and a farmhouse flag floor. There are five good sized bedrooms and three well appointed bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. There is a private walled garden. The house is located in the heart of the village close to all amenities including restaurants. The space The Grade ll listed luxury self-catering property is entered by a flagged hallway with character beams leading to the downstairs rooms, and features some original stone walling. Lounge The lounge is full of character and features an open fireplace, wooden floorboards, mood lighting and beamed ceilings. There is ample seating for 10 people. There is a 42” LCD TV with a BT You View box which provides a range of freeview channels and recording facilities, and for your entertainment there is also a DVD player with an extensive film library plus plenty of books and games. A Bluetooth speaker lets you play your music wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone and any other Bluetooth enabled device. Dining Room Dine in style in this beautiful room. The floor is laid with slate flags warmed by under floor heating. There is mood lighting to help create the right dining ambiance and original beams to the ceilings for character. A large oak dining table provides seating for up to 10 people and an iPod dock / CD music centre provides music to complete the ambiance. Kitchen The farmhouse kitchen is fully refurbished and fully equipped with the latest electric range style 4 oven cooker and 5 burner hob. There is a large larder integrated fridge, fitted dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker plus plenty of cooking equipment and utensils. There is also a utility room leading off the kitchen with a freezer, washing machine and tumble drier, vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron, high chair and travel cot. There is a downstairs cloakroom and WC with underfloor heating and plenty of space to hang your wet coats to dry. First Floor Bedroom 1: With twin beds and garden and courtyard view. Bedroom 2: With king size bed, original feature fireplace and views over the village square. Bathroom: With shower, bath, wash basin and WC Bedroom 3: With king size bed, original feature fireplace, wooden floors and views over the village square and picture window with view of the Priory and Hampsfell beyond. Also having en suite shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. Second Floor Bedroom 4: With twin beds and picture window giving way to views over the village square. Bedroom 5: With double bed and picture window with view of the Priory and Hampsfell beyond. Bathroom: With shower, bath, wash basin and WC. Outside The lovely private walled garden to the rear offers a tranquil and secure space for children or dogs. There is outdoor seating with a table and barbecue – perfect for relaxed al fresco dining. Parking There is no dedicated parking at the property but there is plenty of parking in the racecourse car park, which is about 200m from Ford House. There are free parking spaces on the edge of the village. Other things to note Bookings normally commence on a Monday or a Friday. We take three night weekend bookings or four night midweek bookings for most of the year apart from during school holidays when bookings are for a full week commencing on a Friday.
