The Old Smithy.

A bright and airy converted former blacksmiths adjacent to our house with wood burner, bedroom with king sized bed, a mezzanine bedroom with sofa bed (accessed via steep steps so not suitable for infants or elderly), open plan living room and kitchenette and bathroom (with shower). Kids and pets welcome. We welcome groups of up to 6 BUT RECOMMEND NO MORE THAN 4 ADULTS for max comfort. 150 yds from the Red Lion known for its real ales and within easy walking distance of the thatched Half Moon The space There are only two bedrooms so for bookings of more than 4 guests you must bring your own sleeping bag/ beddings/pillows/blankets. There is one 3 seater sofa and 4 dining rooms chairs for seating. Designated parking spaces for two cars (further spaces available on road) Access to a patio area next to the main house overlooking the fields for BBQs or al fresco dining. See photos for location of patio area. Mostly surrounded by open fields Other things to note Travel cot and high chair available on request. We recommend no more than 4 adults as it isn’t a huge space but we’re happy to accept bookings for up to 6 but you will need to bring your own camp/air bed/sleeping bag/bedding for the 2 additional guests to sleep in the living area. Max occupancy 6 adults given the small bathroom. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A DINING TABLE AND CHAIRS BUT THIS ONLY SEATS 4 PEOPLE AND THE SOFA ONLY SITS 4. WiFi available The kitchenette contains an oven and microwave but no hob - though there is a small portable induction hob (see photos) which fits only one pan and which can be plugged in. There is a HD Samsung freestyle projector which works like a smart tv allow guests to watch bbc iPlayer, channel 4 and log in to their own Netflix/Amazon prime accounts for films/gaming (approx size 45inches using the available Wall space though the projector can provide a display of up to 100inches). There is also a small TV with inbuilt DVD player which can be used to watch dvds (large selection available) and is connected to a smart “Roku” stick to allow guests to watch bbc iPlayer, channel 4 and log in to their own Netflix/Amazon prime accounts. There is a selection of board games for guests to use. If you require an earlier check in or later check out time please ask. We will try and accommodate you if we can. The smithy contains everyday essentials like washing up liquid, tinfoil, olive oil, tea, coffee, salt pepper etc but we don’t provide fresh items such as milk and bread. However if you would like us to supply those we can do for a small additional fee so please do ask.
