My codicote cottage is set in a quiet village in the countryside dating back to the 1600’s. Low wooden beams, large open fireplace, a delightful garden with a garden room all make for the perfect stay. Surrounded by rolling countryside. Yet only 35 mins on the train into the heart of London. Train station a 7 min drive away. A similar distance to Cambridge. The historic Knebworth house (where pink floyd, Robbie Williams, queen and many more have played), is a beautiful 30-45 min walk away through stunning scenery. You can tour the house and gardens. Very close walking distance are an Indian and Turkish restaurant. 2 quintessentially English pubs with gardens. A butchers, bakers and convienience store. The lovely market towns of Hitchin, Hertford and St Albans are within a short drive. At the rear of the garden is a patio with bbq and cooking station. Table and chairs. All with night lighting. A very spacious main bedroom with high ceiling. The second bedroom is very small and has a smaller than usual single mattress bed with a pallet base. Could sleep an adult but better suited to a child. To clarify this is not a standard bed base so not as comfortable or spacious as usual single bed. Think more like a comfortable camping bed.
