The Arches provides luxury light-filled accommodation for six people in the converted cart stables of a 16th century farm, set in the hidden beauty of Borthwick valley. It offers both a beautiful rural escape, and a base within easy reach of central Edinburgh. Gorebridge station is 5 minutes away, with regular trains all day- ideal for the Festival or Hogmanay. The space In a converted stables with floor-to-ceiling arched windows facing west, The Arches provides light airy high-quality accommodation for 6 people. Relax with a high-spec shower room, quality wooden floors, a spacious kitchen, and the large light lounge downstairs- kept warm with central heating and double glazing throughout, and the recently added Di Russo woodturning stove, for cosy nights in watching the mesmerising flame. The beautiful oak staircase leads up to a light airy upstairs hall connecting three beautifully appointed double bedrooms, one en-suite, and a shared family bathroom with bath. Beautiful fitted wardrobes provide excellent storage space, and travel cot and high chair are provided. An extra single bed can be provided from the sofa bed in the upstairs hall for a small extra charge- so please enquire if you might need that option. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the whole house, with a dedicated garage and outside seating area. Other things to note Borthwick Mains is a working organic farm, so visitors need to be aware of there can sometimes be farming activity on the steading, but owners Jude and Phil guarantee a warm welcome, and will advise visitors of what is happening on the farm, and any areas they should stay away from etc. Our Short-Term Lets Licence Number is ML00091F.
