Bruckless House Gate Lodge is on the grounds of Bruckless House, which is listed as a part of Ireland's national heritage. The gate lodge is a solid stone building from the early 1900's. It features original sash windows and a natural slate roof. It is set within the dry stone walls of Bruckless House on 18 acres of parkland which stretch down to the shore of Bruckless Bay. The space This listed building maintains all of its original features. Now plumbed with a bath and standing shower, it has electric heaters in all rooms. The living room/ kitchen has an open fire. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. It is ideal for a family of two adult and two children. Guest access Bruckless House is an 18th Century building with a cobbled yard that connects to a 17th Century hay barn. It is a spacious private property that has been home to several different families since 1750. Guests are welcome to interact with our Connemara ponies, our dogs, cats and chickens. Guests can walk down the main driveway to the house and cross over to the shore where there is an 18th Century stone pier from which to enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean. Other things to note Located on the South Donegal's Wild Atlantic Way, Bruckless is a 30-minute drive from the highest sea cliffs in Europe, Slieve League. Glenveagh National Park is within easy driving distance for a day trip. Killybegs, Ireland’s premier fishing port, is just 10 minutes away by car. Fintra beach is just on the far side of Killybegs. This blue flag beach (approximately 1km long) has a long golden strand, rock formations and sand dunes and is perfect for a circular walk along the beach and back along the pathway in the sand dunes.
