Entire log home guesthouse with private entrance

Rest at Alaska Golden Guesthouse, a modern, second story log home, close to world class fishing, rafting, and Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Located on our family homestead circa 1963, this is Grammie's home with some mobility aids available. Centrally located in the Copper River Country, this is a great base to explore the region or take day trips to Valdez, McCarthy, or Nabesna. The region is beautiful and full of history and culture. We are happy to share it with you. The space The guesthouse is perfect for those wanting to get away in a quiet, private setting in rural Alaska. Its open concept can accommodate families and larger groups. The apartment is located upstairs in the second log home on the property. It has everything you need for a short or extended stay. You can start your day with gourmet coffee, explore all day, and come home to a meal you prepped in the morning. Ask us about using the chest freezer for your Copper River sockeye or king salmon or Valdez halibut catch. There are full laundry facilities for those messy days and shoe trays for your muddy boats. Our private setting means that we are not located in a town and you will need to drive to services. The closest restaurant is 5 minutes away, the small, local grocery store is 20 minutes, and there are two small conveniences stores 5-10 minutes away. There are no hidden fees and no long list of chores. We just ask that you turn off the lights and coffee pot when you leave. We respectfully require no smoking (tobacco nor marijuana), no vaping, and no illegal drugs on the premises. Those found will be charged $500 and asked to leave. Guest access You have two entrances with electronic lock boxes for your security. Enjoy the sunshine and watching the pups in the yard while you relax on the lawn or on the balcony. Both are good viewing places for the aurora when it starts getting dark in late August and September. There are picnic tables and a swing set, and you are welcome to utilize the lawn. Other things to note We have a replica Civil War era cannon in the front yard and two box cars, one on rails. We are history and geology geeks so you will see a lot of rocks and many old things. Feel free to wander the yard or play with the pups.
