Description
Till Barn is a cozy centrally heated cottage for two, but is surprisingly spacious, with vaulted beamed ceilings in the sitting room and bedroom and fully equipped kitchen and bath/ shower room. It is situated in a pretty and peaceful rural location, but is only 15 minutes by car from Lincoln Cathedral and Castle and 8 mins from the Lincoln Showground, so guests have all the convenience of being really close to attractions but with the advantage of a peaceful nights sleep. The space Till Barn is a self-contained cottage situated within the curtilage of our long barn conversion, with its own separate entrance, and has central heating throughout. There is a fully furnished large beamed bedroom with a sumptuous King sized bed, wooden floor with rug, bedroom furniture, DAB radio and alarm. Bedding and towels are provided. The lounge area has original brick walls, which add warmth and character, along with a beautiful quarry tiled floor with all the usual comfortable furniture you'd expect. The newly refurbished bathroom has a luxury roll top bath with a power shower over the bath (there is a sturdy grab rail to ensure guest safety while showering) so guests can chose to have a wallow if they want to or the convenience of an invigorating shower. I provide good quality shampoo, body wash and hand soap and loo roll. There is a small separate kitchen (double doors between kitchen and lounge can be closed to add extra coziness) The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size oven, hob, extractor, fridge with small freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, microwave and all essential cooking equipment, plus a washing machine. I supply some basics to get you started: Cereal, tea, coffee, cafetier, sugar, plus a small jug of fresh milk so you can have a nice cuppa on arrival. I also provide daily essentials for the kitchen, ( washing up liquid, washing cloths and drying up towels, cleaning sprays, a couple of washing machine tabs, airing rack, iron and ironing board.) It really is, home from home. Outside there is off road parking and a lovely private lawned area at the front for guests to sit out and enjoy Lincolnshire's famous sunsets. At the rear, chairs are provided for guests to sit out and enjoy the morning sunshine on a small patio area. The cottage is adjacent to our family farm and guests are welcome to enjoy the open spaces and some lovely walks, including a walk that takes you through a small copse of trees onto the River Till bank . The farm is alongside a small country road, so access is convenient and quick (No long dark farm tracks to worry about) and on winter nights, an external light will be on to guide guests to the correct door, but please note, there are no street lights so you'll need to follow the travel instructions carefully. Guests are welcome to share this pretty peaceful world "away from the madding crowd" but just 15 minutes away from the spectacularly pretty historical city of Lincoln. Guest access The barn is fully self contained with its own private entrance, which on most arrival days, will be left unlocked or access is via a keysafe (code issued on booking) . There is a private lawn where guests can relax on the garden furniture provided in the shade of the rather beautiful Hawthorn tree and sit and listen to the birds and watch the sun go down!. Guests can also enjoy our farm walks, one of which follows the meandering river Till, a truly peaceful and private walk that circles back to the farm, about 2 miles. (please note, this walk takes in some road at the beginning and at the end of the walk and it takes about 10 minutes to reach the river) For those that like to fish, you are welcome to do so during the season, no charge, just enjoy the total peace and tranquility of this peaceful private riverbank. Other things to note It is adjacent to our working arable farm, so please be aware when booking, that during busy harvest periods, normally August/September and sometimes into October, large vehicles will be moving about in the adjacent farmyard as lorries arrive and leave . Its not constant noise, and generally activity begins after 10am and its often quiet by 9pm, but this varies with annual conditions. Generally, this doesn't detract from the sense of being away from it all and most guests appear to be unaware of it (see reviews) Getting here: detailed instructions will be given on booking, but we are 15 minutes north west of Lincoln.
