The island is 200 m from the mainland, parking 20 m from the boat dock. Is there electricity or Wi-Fi? No public power grid & no Wi-Fi. Solar energy for light & appliances, ideal for real "offline" experience. How does the water work? Water filter system prepares seawater for drinking water. 60 L of drinking water is available upon arrival. How is it heated? All cabins & sauna with wood stoves. Firewood is available. What is the sanitary situation like? Dry toilet & hot shower via wood-fired boiler. Is there a kitchen? Yes – in the main house (gas stove, wood-burning stove, sink, dishes & cooking utensils). What about mosquitoes? Depending on the season (June/July more). Mosquito repellent & Thermacell devices are available. Where can I shop? S-Market in Karttula (8 km) – plan larger purchases before the crossing. A rowboat is of course included. The parking lot is about 200 m from the island. Firewood is provided, but please use it carefully - the resources of an island are limited. We provide you with bed covers, bed linen and towels upon arrival. The cooling cellar cools to refrigerator temperature even in midsummer. Mushrooms, blueberries and cranberries are available – depending on the season – on the island or in the surrounding forests.
