Riverview Cottage Kirkmichael Perthshire

A traditional Scottish 1800's stone built cottage with a wonderful garden leading to the cosy summerhouse and babbling river. The cottage is well equipped with many original features. Sit by the wood burning stove or eat out at the local village pub. Relax in the summerhouse overlooking the river and look for red squirrels, rabbits and wild birds. We have marvellous countryside and you are in a perfect location for exploring Scotland, its historic towns, castles and of course the distilleries. The space Our guests really like the many original traditional features and interesting collectable items on display in this lovely cosy stone cottage. The space feels warm and homely and comfortable more like a real Scottish home than just a holiday cottage. The cottage was built in the 1800s so you will find the rooms quite small and tall people watch out as the doorways are quite low which all adds to the authentic character of the space. The woodburning stove is of course lovely but the cottage also has its own oil fired heating. All of the rooms overlook the very large garden which leads down to the drying green, summerhouse and the river. The bedrooms are both up a set of slightly steep stairs, and the bathroom (bath no shower, but shower attachment) is also located upstairs. Guest access The cottage is situated at the bottom of a short lane, just off the small road which runs through Kirkmichael. There is a garden gate that leads to the cottage where you can enjoy the large country garden with its picnic table beside the river. There is a summer house at the bottom of the garden is very popular with our guests as they can relax maybe fall asleep listening to the sound of the birds and the water. Other things to note We are in a lovely little village, that you will need a car to get to. There is a bus service to Kirkmichael, but it is extremely limited and we strongly recommend you arrive by car. Registration details PK11279F
