The Artist’s Barn. A unique and rustic retreat.

Beautiful, unusual & stylish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, ( 1 en suite ) renovated and arty barn. In a tranquil, yet accessible countryside setting, overlooking fields with 2 ponies/stable yard. A comfortable, friendly & rustic place to unwind. It also stays cool, even on hot days but warm and toasty in the winter. Numerous nearby attractions including Jane Austen’s Museum, The Watts Gallery and Uppark House. DM if you’d like an art lesson. Can sketch ponies/portraits or landscapes! The space A wonderfully spacious old barn that has been renovated and bathrooms updated. Shabby chic. Sleeps 4. Each bedroom has double fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers with mirror. Definitely bring your sketch pad if you're an artist, so much to inspire you! Huge SmartTV with Netflix and fast wifi. Private garden. Please note that the art work in the barn does change from time to time as pictures get sold and created. Hence why various different photos in the listing. The property is not suitable for infants and is not child proofed- sharp table corners, no high chair, travel cot etc. Guest access There is a private patio/grassed area at the back of the barn for your sole use. It is screened from the main house and our private garden by trees/fencing. There is an outdoor table and benches for 4-6, an outdoor lounge sofa/rocking chair and you are welcome to BBQ. Outdoor cushions are kept in a storage box underneath a wooden verandah. Please bring them in if it looks like rain is due! To the front of the property is the stable yard. Please see photos. Other things to note There is a large bouncy silver labrador on the property, but he is very friendly! The big grey cat keeps himself to himself. Please keep the gate to bridlepath and to each side of the barn shut at all times so the dog doesn't escape. We have ponies in the fields, in hot weather out at night but in the stables by day-next to barn- therefore NOT suitable for anyone who is allergic to horses or have infants under 2. DO NOT FEED HORSES. They appreciate a pat on the neck though. Please clean up any dog mess from garden. Full freestanding cooker and oven so you can do a full roast dinner with all the trimmings. For guests staying longer, there is an extra chest freezer (in the stable nearest to the barn) that you are welcome to use. Bikes can be stored in one of the old stables. The Smart TV is great for Netflix / Prime etc but it’s not THAT smart as you can only watch BBC through its IPlayer App and you can’t watch ITV ! However if you bring your laptop you can of course watch ITV player LIVE on that.
