Sleep in a fabulous 6ft (super-king) bed with a super thick 13-inch mattress and high-quality linens. The newly-renovated ensuite is fitted with a powerful shower: luxury towels and toiletries are provided. You’ll have access to a super-fast (up to 70Mb/s) fibre broadband network and an internet enabled, HD TV, plus complimentary access to Netflix too. The space Over the last two decades, I have lived in Bangkok and Hong Kong and I now find myself in York, and I m loving my life here. It is certainly different to Asia, but it has a certain distinct charm all of its own that draws you in and makes you feel instantly welcome and at home. I travel and I love it! I enjoy discovering new places, whether it's a beautiful statue, a fabulous wine bar or a view to die for! I also know how critical it is to have a haven to return to at the end of each day exploring. So, with that in mind, I recreated the annexe next to my home. It is designed to give you everything you need to relax, chill and sleep well: whatever your day has entailed. Whilst there is no kitchen, I provide tea and coffee-making facilities, a fridge (with an ice box), crockery, cutlery, mugs, glasses and a bottle opener. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar, juice and a continental style breakfast will be left in your room. I have also provided a microwave in the annexe incase you prefer to eat in. With 'ready meals' available either a short walk away or a 5 minute drive to an M&S Food hall it gives you more options for dining. Please also note that there is no sofa in the space but 2 armchairs for your weary bones. You have your own entrance gate to 'The Old Ironmongers' and your own private courtyard to enjoy too. The Old Ironmongers is a short 15-minute drive to the historic city of York, or a 25-minute ride on the bus (Bus stop 1 minute away). Every time I visit York, it still brings a smile to my face. It’s such an easy, walkable city centre, steeped in history, and a veritable feast for the eyes with beautiful riverside walks and stunning architecture to gaze at. It is overflowing with things to do with a plethora of museums, theatres, restaurants and traditional pubs (many hundreds of years old) and newer bars too. It’s a shopper’s paradise as well! If it is a quiet few days you are looking for, our village has some lovely gentle walks along the River Foss, or a stroll across the common and a woodland area, or a gentle walk from a nearby village all the way into York with a lovely cafe stop along the way. We have three pubs in our village – two within easy walking distance, one in fact that is right next door to our house! Below I have listed the other village amenities too.
