Description
The Old Manor Cottage is a beautiful Grade 2 listed thatched cottage that dates back to the 17th century and sits peacefully in the large grounds of the owner's manor house. The charming cottage has a lovely cosy feel with many character features, including exposed beams and oak doors. It is surrounded by stunning countryside. William Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford upon Avon is less than 10 miles away. Chipping Campden and Stow on the Wold are both within 20 minutes. The space Old Manor Cottage is located on a quiet lane in the small village of Halford, on the edge of the Cotswolds. The front door opens immediately into the beamed kitchen which is well equipped with electric oven with four ring electric hob, fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a glass table which comfortably seats 3. This leads into the hall, off which is the charming beamed sitting room which has a roaring open fire, downstairs loo and staircase. Upstairs is the light and airy bathroom, single bedroom and adjoining master bedroom. In keeping with the age and character of the cottage, the stairs are fairly steep ( but with hand rails on both sides ) and there is restricted headroom in certain areas. The cottage sits in three acres of beautifully maintained gardens, which run down to the picturesque River Stour. There is free use of the tennis court, tennis balls and racquets upon request from the owners. The Old Manor Cottage is a perfect choice for a couple or a small family looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings. Guest access Guests have extensive parking immediately in front of the cottage, beyond which is a large grass area leading down to the summerhouse for their exclusive use. Beyond the tennis court ( which guests are welcome to use ) is another, shared, sitting area with table and chairs and views across the open countryside Other things to note The cottage is cosy and I want to emphasise to guests that they are welcome to bring one medium dog, with prior notification for which there will be a charge of £25 ( unless paid for in advance ) on arrival. If you wish to bring more than one dog then please notify Jane for discussion as to suitability.
